Movie(s) your character is in: Ratatouille
Character's Personality: Remy is a very amenable rat who would do anything if it is for the best. He is friendly towards people, and as a rat, Remy has a good ability to adapt, as he is used to move a lot. He cares for his friends and his family, or his clan. And he uses his highly developed sense of smell to find poison in their food and save them. But his greatest passion will be food. He loves food, or more certainly good food. He doesn't eat garbage like his siblings, he most likely eats cuisine. If it's not good food, he stays away from it. And that is probably also the way he chooses his friends. If they are not good, he throws them away. He is also a very proud rat, proud of his ability to make fine French cuisine.
Character's History: Remy used to live in the attic of a French country home with his brother Emile and a pack led by his father Django. Gifted with a highly developed sense of smell, Remy aspired to be a gourmet chef, inspired by France's recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau, but instead he was put to work sniffing for rat poison. When the pack were discovered by the home's occupant, they fled into the sewers; Remy got separated and ended up aground underneath Gusteau's restaurant in Paris. Led by his imagination of Gusteau, Remy went to the kitchen skylight to watch the kitchen in action during a service. There, he observed Alfredo Linguini, the son of Gusteau's former lover, being hired as a janitor by Skinner, the restaurant's current owner and Gusteau's former sous-chef. When Linguini spilled some of the soup and attempted to recreate it using random ingredients, Remy gets horrified and fell into the kitchen; instead of escaping, Remy attempted to correct the soup. Remy got caught by Linguini just as Linguini got caught by Skinner, but before anyone could stop the serving staff, the soup got served and found to be a success. Colette, the staff's only female chef, convinced Skinner to retain Linguini, believing him to be the success behind the soup. Linguini took Remy home, realizing he could not kill him as instructed by Skinner as Remy was the "little chef" that made the soup.
Remy and Linguini found a means to overcome their language barrier, with Remy pulling Linguini's hair under his toque blanche to control his limbs like a marionette. The two worked together to successfully cook in the kitchen, even overcoming challenges placed by Skinner.
Remy found Emile in the restaurant's trash, and got reunited with the pack. Django warned Remy that humans and rats would never get along, but Remy insisted that it would all work out. Meanwhile, Remy begrudgingly feeded Emile and his growing group of friends from the kitchen's pantry as the nights passed.
Anton Ego, a food critic that had cost Gusteau's one of its star ratings, announced he would review the restaurant again the next day based on its rising success. Linguini, under pressure of Ego's pending arrival, had a fallout with Remy, causing Remy to retaliate by leading a raid on the kitchen's foodstocks that night. Linguini catched the rats stealing the food and chased them all out, including Remy, telling the rat he never wanted to see him again. Remy, dejected, got captured by Skinner who recognized Remy was the real talent behind Linguini, but got later freed by Django and Emile. Remy returned to the kitchen to find a frantic Linguini apologizing for his actions, and asking Remy back to help. Linguini then revealed the truth to the rest of the staff about Remy, causing them all to walk out, but Colette later returned after recalling Gusteau's catchphrase: "Anyone can cook." Django, recognizing his son's determination, organized the rest of the pack to help out in the kitchen to serve the other customers along with Linguini, while Remy and Colette work together to prepare a variation on ratatouille for Ego. Ego got amazed by the dish, bringing back memories of his mother's cooking, and asked to see the chef. Linguini and Colette waited until all the other customers left to reveal Remy and the rats to Ego. Ego left the restaurant deep in thought, and wrote a glowing review of the meal the next day, declaring Remy to be "nothing less than the finest chef in France".
Gusteau's restaurant got closed a short time later after a health inspector discovered the rats in the kitchen. Though Ego's reputation was tarnished on reviewing a restaurant plagued with rats, he eagerly funded a popular new bistro, "La Ratatouille", run by Linguini and Colette, featuring diner areas for both humans and rats and a kitchen designed for Remy to continue to cook in.
Characters Likes: Cooking, eating cuisine and inventing new dishes.
Character's Dislikes: Garbage, repression and when people don't like his food.
Roleplay
Task: A lot of people turned and looked at Remy as he walked down the streets on his hind legs. The little rat was out of his mind with curiosity. He was in Disney World, the happiest place on earth. He was hungry and wanted to see the restaurants at Disney World, were they better than his restaurant? He shook his head. No, they couldn't possibly be better than him! He entered a café, the so-called Disney Café, wondering what they could make for a little rat like him. He ordered ratatouille to make the waiter laugh, and to see if their ratatouille could out-compete him.
He was looking forward to go to Disney World, maybe he could open his own restaurant someday? He had heard that his good friend Alfredo Linguini had moved to Disney World as well, perhaps they could start working together again.
"Ratatouille?" exclaimed he waiter, he started to laugh.
"Sorry, we don't have that. I haven't heard of it, actually." Perfect, thought Remy. they haven't even heard of it. Well, this was just his time to shine! He was looking forward to open his own restaurant.
