Cinderella's face crumpled in pain as she limped down the street. She had no idea where to go, or what to do. She refused to go back to her stepmother, but she couldn't seem to spot anyone she knew. She had no money for a new dress, for hers was tattered and bloodstained. Where was the blood coming from? Just the slightly swollen, disgusting puss-filled bite on her right leg. It was bleeding down her leg, onto her shoes, and through her dress. She was a mess, that's for sure.
Every time she took a step, a smoldering pain surged up her body, causing her to wimper. She was biting so hard on her tongue it had began to bleed as well. She felt like crying. And she did. Small sobs wracked her body as she tried to solve how helpless she was.

Captain Teague Sparrow was preparing for his weekly battle against the "unbeatable" Spanish Armada. The truth was, that the Armada had lost every battle they had against Captain Sparrow and his courageous pirates. Captain Teague was chuckling with laughter as he walked down the street. The king of Spain had started crying in public after hearing of his last loss.... The biggest treasure chest ever, filled with gold doubloons, jewelry and gems. Captain Teague pulled out a sapphire necklace and looked at it. It had the same color as Cinderella's eyes. Suddenly he noticed the girl limping down the street. He quickly put the necklace back in his pocket, before approaching her gently.
He watched her for awhile before saying anything. Her dress was tattered and blood stained. He noticed a bleeding wound on her leg, and he could hear small sobs coming from her. He sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder. He wanted to say something friendly and sympathetic, to tell her he felt sorry for her. He opened his mouth to say some comeforting words, but he had always been bad with comforting women.
"When someone bites ye, ye bite them aft, arrr?"
He gave himself a mental facepalm.
Way to go, Romeo! Excellent way of speaking to a girl who looks like she has lost her first battle!!! This will win you her heart, suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.....

Cinderella's head was ducked low, so she only noticed his presence when his shadow eveloped her in darkness. Looking up at Teague, she saw how sympathetic he looked, and looked away. She was ashamed; she could remember when he had looked so happy that she had stood up for herself. And now Cindy had failed, and he was there to see her fall to pieces.
She would've laughed at his comment, but instead she felt her dispair deepen like a hole in her stomach. She crossed her arms across her chest and avoided looking at him. She was biting her lip so hard it also began to bleed.
If not under these circumstances, Cinderella would have been thrilled to see Captain Teague Sparrow. But at that moment she wanted to roll up under a rock and die. A quick and painless death, of course. She'd had enough pain to last her a long time.
At least Pooh's alright, she thought to herself. The whole reason she had fought was to save Winnie the Pooh, who was going to be the fox's meal. Well, that and the fact that she wanted to stand up for something for once. She had been getting good at it.

Teague watched the young girl who ducked her head so low he couldn't even see her eyes. He imagined this was what she had looked like when she grew up in the Tremaine mansion. He sighed heavily, and cupped her chin gently with his warm, strong hand, lifting her head so he could look at her.
"Ahoy now, dasn't let yer enemies get th' best o' ye. They dasn't deserve 't. An' look at ye - what in th' name o' Davy Jones has happened here? Ye look like ye`ve been fightin'?"
He looked over her wounds, trying to decide how serious they were. He would have to take the girl to Esmeralda. He knew the gypsy was capable of tending to wounds like this. She was the one who patched up his wounded pirates after a battle.
"Esmeralda ortin' ta be havin' a look at yer wounds - but be thar somethin' ye need t' talk about first?"

Cinderella knew it was stupid of her to be disapointed, but she didn't care. She had hoped that, if Teague were to see her in this state, he'd at least be the least bit concerned. But instead he was all calm and rational... as if he had expected something like this to happen.
This thought made her jut out her chin as he spoke, looking away like a stubborn child. Maybe she was a stubborn child. What had she been thinking, fighting a ravenous fox? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Teague was probably thinking the same thing. He must've known she wouldn't last without him to protect her.
"I fought a giant fox who was trying to eat my friend," she said in an exasperated tone. When he suggested taking her to see Esmeralda, she flinched. She didn't want Esme to know she had failed too.
"No," she said, her voice sassy and mad. She suddenly felt like crying. Though it pained her, she stepped around him saying, "I'm sick of being dubbed a stupid little girl. And don't deny it, you know you think I am too."

((I hope you don't mind me letting Esmeralda take Teague's part in this thread? I would hate to leave you plotless. ))
