A lot of people stared as the two rodents Basil and Remy strolled down Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the biggest and most visited city in Europe. The sun was shining between the clouds, and the air was filled with the delicious scents of several cakes and food from the cafés the avenue was practically crowded with.
The two rodents walked on heir hind legs and they were both wearing clothes, Remy in his new blue suit and Basil with his own... They strolled down the avenue to find Remy's restaurant La Ratatouille, and there it was, right between Café de Roma and Pizza Pino.
Disney Land was really a remarkable place, Paris in this world was just like Paris in Remy's world, except that the people in this world were nicer and more pleasant to eachother, and they wouldn't chase him away when seeing him on the streets.
And the other difference was that there were no people in La Ratatouille, nor rats. It was empty. But open, so Remy entered the little door on the left, and held it open for Basil. "Entrez!" he smiled.

"Avec plaisir," replied Basil in excellent French, which he could speak when he cared to.
The detective looked around appreciatively. It appeared to be quite a chic little restaurant, or perhaps bistro would be more the proper term.
"It would seem we have the place rather to ourselves today."

"Yes, we do! Welcome to my little bistro!" He was quite proud of his little charming restaurant, and hoped his new frind would like it.
He ran down to into the kitchen to see if there was any food in the kitchen's little pantry, where he also had his own door to enter. He wanted to impress Basil with his well-known ratatouille. Climbing up to the sink, he washed his paws. No dirty paws were allowed in the kitchen!
The pantry was filled with food, it was as though the kitchen had been waiting for Remy to come and just help himself. Climbing up the racks, he looked for several types of vegetables to mix in his kettle. He was very careful with it, he didn't just throw them down on the floor. He carried them in his paws, one by one. "Could you give me a hand with the vegetables? I need an eggplant and another tomato." he looked over at Basil, and hoped he would help him. Oh, he hoped he wouldn't dirty the suit!

"Help you? Why, certainly, if you like."
Alas, Basil's knowledge of cookery began and ended with making toast. He hoped he wouldn't accidentally spoil their dinner.
Hum...vegetables would be somewhere in the larder...
Scouring the pantry and finding nothing, he decided to try the icebox instead. Ah, that was better. The detective chose a smallish tomato (because he couldn't carry the large ones), and brought it out to Remy.
The eggplant would be another matter entirely. It was so very large and heavy, that Basil had no choice but to roll it out.

Remy noticed that Basil seemed a little nervous about cooking, and offered him a smile. "This is going to be so much fun!" He had his own little lift made of a basket and rope and a crank to lift him up to the bench (are those the right words?). He put the vegetables he and Basil had brought from the pantry and the icebox into the basket and jumped into it himself. With a paw on the crank, Remy waited for Basil to come a well.

Basil only smiled at this. He wasn't sure whether he would agree or not.
He was impressed with the basket which was to carry them up to the counter. "Handy business, this," he said appreciatively.

"It was my idea." why did he have to brag so much? But he hoped Basil wouldn't mind, and it was after all his invention. With Basil in the basket, he turned the crank. It was heavier than he thought, considering that the basket contained two rodents and rather heavy vegetables. But he managed, and they ended up at the counter after a little while.
Remy jumped out and rolled each vegetable into the basin to wash them by climbing up the sink and turning the water. Each vegetable was now swimming in water and all he had to do now was scrubbing them just a little to remove prospective stains. He was very strict that way.

Basil was content to watch, hands clasped behind his back.
"I say, you aren't going to put any garlic in that, are you?" He really hated garlic.

"I'm sorry, but I have to! It's the main ingredient, you see. Just wait, and you'll taste how good it will be!" Remy said as he splashed into the water and scrubbed the vegetables clean. When all the possible stains were gone, he snapped out the plug and the water went out.
Then it was time to prepare the oven and cut the vegetables, and put them into a fireproof shape. He climbed down the counter and ran into the pantry to find a garlic and an onion. "Err, Basil? Could you help me cutting some tomatoes?" he called out from the pantry. He figured it wouldn't be too hard for him to find a knife and board.

"Well...all right, I suppose."
Basil had somewhat lost interest in dinner when he heard about the garlic. He set about the task in a slightly sullen, mopey sort of way, cutting chunks out of the tomato without enthusiasm.
You'd think one could jolly well leave out the garlic, he thought silently.

<<It says open, can I join? Gadget needs to meet Remy>>
Gadget wandered into the cafe, because she'd never been her ebefore, and because she liked the picture of the rat on the sign.
She'd never heard of 'ratatouille' and didn't speak French, so Gadget supposed it meant 'cafe for rodents' or something like that.
Inside, there didn't seem to be anybody around. "Hello? Anybody here? Can I get lunch here?" Huh, the door wasn't locked...could they be closed?

A guest! How great! If only his pack was there so they could be more people there to cook. He ran out of the pantry to see who was there. Another mouse! A female, he thought, since she had a very female hairdo. A hairdo! And clothes. He was glad he was wearing the suit Basil borrowed him, it seemed to be normal here with rodents wearing clothes.
"Welcome to La Ratatouille! The workers are having a day off" or something... "so it's only me and Basil here. But we are about to make ratatouille, you can join us if you like?" He held out his paw. "I'm Remy, by the way. Basil is in the kitchen."

Ooc: Might a human cause destruction to the mice, I wonder, I wonder. Lol. Feel free to kick me out anytime =D
Wandering about the ‘Happy Place’ with no clue where she’d end up to made her worry much. Those dark hazel eyes stared at the signs, which were so foreign to her, if only it were Arabic, or even English, at the least, it would be much of a great convenience to her. Jasmine, of Agrabah wondered these foreign streets, wondering what other surprises would she find, she had met talking foxes, a lioness and even a mischievous deer. Somehow, in the depths of her heart, she felt the enthusiasm, which was kind of weird even for Jasmine, for she was a person so difficult to amuse, yet she loved traveling, especially on the magic carpet. The familiar brush of fur next to her made her sigh and automatically pet the tiger, which tagged along. It was so full of people, with different shapes and sizes, it was almost as if she was back to being the runaway-bride in Agrabah, where she was saved by Aladdin. Will Aladdin swoop down like he did the last time?
This is no time to be playing Damsel in distress Jasmine…
Sounds of sniffing filled her ear, as she turned, before a streak of orange and black ran off to the north. Frantic, she chased after Rajah, her eyes wide, as if in fear of losing him. Her mind raced, with a thousand questions, as she yelled out his name,
“Rajah! Where are you going?”
A restaurant! He was heading to a restaurant. What was the name? Rat-tah-too-ill? Rajah scattered the tables and chairs, as he pounced into a couple of doors. Her nimble fingers push past the doors, as she found- wait- mice? Three of them, in a conversation. Her eyes widened before she realized that her tiger was about to pounce on them. Clash. It was a sort of surprise for her, at the same time, she was amused. Yes. Amused, before she ran to his aid. Rajah had never missed a target before,[not that she wanted the mice to be eaten of course] and it took her seconds to realize of his sudden rash action.
“Oh Rajah, you’re hungry…”
Her nose caught the smell, of something…something wonderful, it was far beyond words to describe it. Her eyes gazed at the mice, before she said softly,
“I am dreadfully sorry for barging in like this, b-but...”
She paused for a moment, catching her breath. Oh, she, had been so busy running up and down out of curiosity of this arena, that she hadn’t realized how famish and overcomed with fatigue, she was. She slouched down, next to Rajah, before her voice echoed out again.
“We are in need of food- I mean- that is to say…”
Oh dear, is this the feel of being tongue-tied?
“May we order please?”

When Gadget called out, a nice young rat came out to greet her. She shook his hand warmly. "Hi, Remy. My name's Gadget."
"Oh, I hope I haven't come at a bad time. If it's no trouble, I don't mind at all helping in the kitchen." Gadget wasn't a great cook, by any means, but she could manage plain dishes, like meat loaf and mashed potatoes. "I sure wouldn't mind picking up some cooking tips."
She started to walk to the kitchen, explaining to Remy how she and Basil met in the park, when in came a huge tiger.
"Oh, hello there," Gadget began, expecting a friendly greeting like she'd received from Kovu when they met. "Isn't it nice," she said to Remy, "that the predator animals are all so friendly here?"
Well, Gadget spoke too soon, for the tiger, with a mighty leap, was almost upon her, claws outstretched to catch its afternoon meal. With a frightened squeak, the little mouse dodged to the side, when suddenly a beautiful human girl ran in.

Basil had come out of the kitchen just in time to see the tiger's near miss.
"Indeed! Madame, will you kindly keep that beast under control? Miss Gadget is most definitely not on the menu."
Still rather indignant, Basil would've preferred to have the tiger removed altogether. But, after all, it was Remy's restaurant, and not his.
"If you like, Remy, I can act as the host out here, while you and Miss Gadget tend to the kitchen duties."
Basil would much prefer to keep an eye on this tiger than to wonder whom it had in its sites.
