Pinocchio caught sight of Alice. "Alice! Gee I'm glad to see ya!" he exclaimed, and then told her about the witch. "You gotta get me outta here, fast!"

The pieces that created the roof of the house now revealed the inside. It was a one-room dwelling - like a beggar's cottage. However, there Pinocchio was, tied with chains! "Oh, Pinocchio! That's where you are! How did you get tied up so quickly?" Her tall body now crouched down as she scrutinized the wooden' boy's predicament.
"I'll free you, Pinocchio!" With her free fingers, she forced the chains out of the wall. Thankfully, the wall wasn't made of bricks, but gingerbread - or the boy would be in a greater predicament!
She looked at the pieces of her roof. I wonder if I would shrink down if I took a bite out of these.. There were two pieces in her hand. Could one of them help her grow even taller, while the other made her shrink? And how big of a bite should she ought to take?

Pinocchio hugged Alice's knees. "Thanks!" he exclaimed. "We have to get out of here, or else..." Before he could finish the witch returned. "What's this!" she exclaimed with a crack of her whip. She then caught sight of Alice. "No way, no how will I let a giant get away with this type of torture!" "RUN!" Pinocchio screamed.

Coming out of her half-eaten house was an old hag too disturbing for the youthful eyes (Alice had to avert them the minute she ran out, waving her arms up and down in fury!). She snarled at Alice, referring to her as a 'giant.' "I'm no giant!" she retorted with a cold glare.
"I'll teach you a thing or two about torturing children!"
Her hands spread wide open. While Pinocchio began to scurry away in fear of getting kidnapped again, Alice stood on guard, feet flat on the streets. As the witch ran after the puppet boy, Alice grasped her frail figure (in an effort to respect her elders, Alice was sure she wouldn't break the old woman's bones). "Leave my friend alone, or I will proceed to demolishing the rest of your home!"

Pinocchio clapped his hands. "Give that old hag what she deserves!" He then thought better as he turned and saw an open oven. Of course. He sweetly put his hands behind his back and said. "My dear lady, someone's waiting to meet you." Before the hag could ask, Pinocchio shoved her into the oven and started a fire.
