It was a dark and stormy night. The rain was pouring down, and it was thunder and ligthening. The sound of the thunder was roaming through the Disney theme park, echoing in the empty streets.
Empty? No, not completely. A tall, dark gypsy girl with raven, and now soaked curls, were running through the streets, trying to find shelter for the storm. Her rainbow color dress was soaked with water, and her bare feet were cold and wet.
A tiny goat was running beside her. His fur was soaked, and clung to his tiny body. He wasn't complaining, but his mild brown goat's eyes told about cold and hunger.
Trembling with cold, and starving, the two friends made their way toward the Haunted Mansion. They didn't have money for a hotel room, it was too late to bother any of their friends. This was their last choice if they wanted to survive the night.
Esmeralda stroke a raven lock away from her forehead and looked at Djali. Her little friend looked like a drowned cat, but he tried to give her an encouraging smile. Esmeralda saw how he trembled from cold, and that gave her the courage she needed to take the last steps to the entrance door. Djali followed her, faithful as always.
The young gypsy girl lifted her hand to knock, when the door opened by itself. Esmeralda and Djali looked at each other, then stepped inside. The moment they entered the room, the door slammed behind them, and they were trapped.
"Darn it!!!"
Esmeralda threw herself towards the door, pulling all she could, but the door wouldn't budge. Djali tried to help, by ramming his tiny horns into the door, but that didn't help either. With a deep sigh Esmeralda sat down next to Djali, carressing her best friend.
"Well, Djali. Let's just face it. We're trapped, old friend."

Elisa was running through the streets, trying to get out of the storm. Her red jacket, which she was currently holding above her head, was offering little protection from the rain, and within minutes, both she and the jacket were soaked.
"Great." Elisa grumbled. "I'm wet and lost. I know every street in Manhattan, and I get lost in a theme park"
Lightning lit up the sky, and Elisa could see the Haunted Mansion just ahead. Laughing at the irony, Elisa decided it was certainly better than staying out here in the rain, so she made her way to the large doors.
Before she could raise her hand to knock, the door opened of it's own accord.
"Well thank you, Casper." Elisa joked to herself, trying to lighten her mood.
She walked into the room, and realized that she wasn't alone.
"Esmeralda!" The gypsy woman and her pet goat were just as drenched as she was. Before Elisa could say that she was glad to see them, the door behind her slammed.
"Geez!" The sound made Elisa jump, and despite her best efforts, the large door wouldn't budge.
Biting back an curse, Elisa turned back towards Esmeralda.
"Looks like we check in, but we don't get to check out." Elisa said. "Are you guys alright?"

Chicken Little was shivering as he kept running from the rainstorm going on at the park he was using a newspaper as a creative umbrella to keep himself from being wet but the storm was starting to be too much. Suddenly the newspaper blew off causing the chicken to be soaked. "This is too humiliating" Suddenly he sneezed a bit as he noticed the mansion and realized that there were no other options he decided to head there for shelter. "Hellooo Anyone" he said as he knocked on the door which suddenly opened causing him to stumble and rolled right in as the door closed when he came in "Woahhhhhh Look out" he said as he stopped right near a familiar face.. "Greetings Esmeralda" he said as he sneezed a bit.

Esmeralda looked up when she noticed the two lates arrivals. She was still soaked from rainwater, but it was not herself she was worried about. It was Djali. The poor little goat had been so long out in the rain that he was trembling. Even if she was soaked herself, she held the little animal in her arms, trying to give him the little warmth she still had in her body. Worry was showing in her emerald eyes.
"I should have sought shelter from the storm earlier...." she said quietly. "But I had no idea that he was freezing THIS much. He didn't say anything....."
Djali was resting in her arms, looking up at her with his mild goat's eyes, while his tiny body trembled. Esmeralda caressed him gently, tears glittering in her emerald eyes.
"Hang in there, my friend. I won't let you die...."

Post by Melody on Feb 9, 2009 17:14:13 GMT -5
Raining streamed down and bounced hard off the ground and it surroundings. It was certainly a very wet, stormy and threatening night. So it was a surprise that 13 year old Melody was around. She had been trying to find shelter for ages, but was unable to. So, she was walking around in the freezing cold downpour, wearing nothing but a yellow short-sleeved dress and orange heels.
"I love water and all, but c'mon!" The princess yelled angrily, wrapping her arms around herself, trying to keep warm. Rain pattered onto her dark mop and slid down her fringe, before dripping off into the many puddles that were about. "Great...I'm just gonna die out here, alone." It was a stupid thought really; it was only a bit of water, but it was so cold, and the rain didn't look like it would stop anytime soon.
It was then the raven haired teenager came across the Haunted Mansion. She was hesitant to go in; she didn't really like going to abandoned houses; especially this late at night, but one more jolt of thunder and lightening changed Melody's mind. Opening the door, the bedraggled princess ringed out her dark locks. It was very dark inside, but at least it was warmer, and sheltered. Fumbling around, the teenager wondered if anyone else was in here.
Cupping her hands over her mouth, Melody shouted, "Hello? Anyone in here?" Her sea blue eyes darted around in fear, and it was at times like this she wished she could be at home in the palace and in her bedroom with all her belongings and family. Looking around, she then caught sight of a familiar face. The teenager's face broke into a smile, "Esmeralda!" Running over, she noticed that the gypsy was also very wet, as was Djali. Bending down, she petted the goat sympathetically.
Melody then noted they weren't alone. She remembered the chicken from that day in Main Street with Shock, Lock and Barrel. Smiling kindly at him, she turned to the tall dark haired woman. "Hi, I'm Melody. I don't think we've met before."

Nani struck a match and raised it, slowly, to her torch. She took a deep breath, and then followed the worried mumbling of the gypsy, trying desperately to see through the darkness. She’d use her ears as her guide, for she could not perceive the unperceivable.
The sound of her footsteps echoed throughout the mansion, hurried and unyielding. She was soaked from head to toe, much to her dismay, and thought back to how long it had taken her to do her hair that morning – now it was limp and straight.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she glanced at the gathering horde as they circled the ill goat, and her eyes expressed, naturally, much concern. “Esme, is that you?” she asked awkwardly, unsure if she had accurately guessed her identity. Her doubts fled from her mind once she noticed the silvery creature lying helplessly, sick.
“Oh, Djali…” she cooed sympathetically, running over to him, letting her backpack slump to the side. “What happened to him? Is he alright? I got medical supplies that might help…”

Esmeralda noticed her friends arrived one by one to this haunted house, that seemed to want to swallow them all alive... She smiled to them, but then her attention returned to the little sick creature in her arms. Her eyes were glittering with tears. She had taken care of this little goat since he was a baby. He had followed her around like a tiny shadow....
And now... just because she didn't see him nuzzle against her legs as he usually did when he wanted shelter... he....
Esmeralda looked up when she heard footsteps echoing through the mansion. She knew only one person who walked that way. She looked up at Nani with a smile, and tears glittering in her long dark eyelashes.
"It was all my fault Nani," she said, as a teardrop trickled down her cheek. "He didn't tell me that he needed shelter... and I kept pushing us through the storm.... I was hoping to reach Kovu's suite.... And now he has a fever. If he dies....."
A sob escaped her, and she hid her face against Djali's soft and now all too warm fur, and cried silently.
Djali looked up at Nani with his eyes matted from the fever, trying to wag his tiny tail in joy over seeing her again. But he didn't manage more than a tiny wiggle.

Chicken looked up and saw his goat friend Djali looking sick as he was now sadden by what is going on. "Oh dear, Djali!! Please be alright" The soaked little bird was slowly warming up but sniffed a bit as he saw Djali. He then noticed the girl that he saw with Lock Shock and Barrel at Main Street before and waved at him. "Hiya Melody, I'm Chicken Little" he said as he turned back to look at the goat. "How can we make him feel better?"

Pocahontas tackled the steps of the Haunted Mansion in little time. She leaned against the wall of the house, wringing out her long hair and trying to keep warm. How she had managed to get lost on a stormy night, she would never know? She only hoped that the rest of her friends were alright.
Although she had heard rumors about the Haunted Mansion, she was concerned only with surviving the cold night. Abandoning her fears, Pocahontas went to open the door and was surprised to see it open itself.
She froze in the doorway, searching around for any cause of the strange pheonmonon. Great Spirits, please look after me, she said in her native tongue, taking the first step inside. Her eyes had barely adjusted to the light when the door slammed shut behind her. Well, there was nothing else for it but to go on.
"Hello," she called out tentatively. "Is anyone here?"

Esmeralda, still holding little feverhot Djali in her arms, warming him with the little warmth she might have left in her frozen body, looked up when she heard the entrance door open, then close again. She knew that someone had been trapped together with the rest of them.
She was just about to telling Chicken Little that she needed herbs to heal Djali, and that she had ran out of the herbs she needed, when she heard footsteps through the room.
Then she heard a female voice calling out.
"Hello," she called out tentatively. "Is anyone here?"
Djali heard at once who it was. His eyes, matted from fever, got a light in them, and once again, he tried to wag his tiny tail eagerly, without managing more than a wiggle.
Esmeralda's eyes filled with tears when she noticed, and thinking that the sight of Poca would make Djali feel better, she stood up and went to meet her friend, with Djali in her arms.
"We are here, Poca," she said, tears still glistening in her long, dark eyelashes. "Though I am not sure how much longer Djali will stay along."

Elisa smiled briefly at the dark haired teenager.
"My name is Elisa." She said, holding her hand out to shake the girls hand.
Like everyone else, however, Elisa's thoughts rested on the shivering goat in Esmeralda's arms.
"This isn't your fault, Esmeralda." Elisa said, her heart aching at the sight of the gypsy crying over her friend. "Djali will be fine. He's a fighter, like you."
Elisa looked at the growing crowd around them.
"I know everyone's soaked, but let's all gather around Djali. The heat from our bodies will help him."

"Feh, Lousy rainstorm messing up a whole amount of fun. This is torture." Edna grumbled to herself as she had a medium sized mauve umbrella over her to keep from getting wet. The fashion designer looked around hoping to find somewhere warm from the storm when a large yet creepy looking mansion caught her attention. "Hmmmm maybe that place is opened and possibly have a fireplace and refreshments." Edna then proceeded onto the mansion and began to knock when it suddenly opened. "Hmm odd usually somebody is behind a closed door to opened it. Feh, no bother" She said as she entered the mansion, as the doors suddenly closed behind her Edna jumped up a bit looking a bit shocked. "Hellooooo is there anyone there?" She called out as she closed up her umbrella. As she was walking by a cup was suddenly floating up but as she turned around it wasn't there. "Hmmmmmm" She turned back around and the cup followed, feeling a bit nervous she stopped and turned around again but again the cup vanished. "Ok Whoever is fooling around, you'll be sorry I have" she reached for her pocket and pulled out a Hair dryer which confused her. "Umm a battery powered Hair dryer and I'm not afraid to use it...Thought so" she turned around and walked down the hall as she then noticed some people around as she was a bit curious on what was going on. "Hello there what seems to be the trouble. You stuck in here too?"

Kiki found herself being pelted by the thunderstorm on her broom, finding it safer for her and Jiji to get to a lower altitude she swiveled the broom downwards only to land near a thicket. "Ouch!" She got up and wiped her eyes as she looked to see that Jiji was fine once again. "Dumb thunderstorm.. come one Jiji we have to get out of this rain!" She said picking up the broom and Jiji quickly before heading to the nearest place for shelter...
Kiki entered the building before putting her broom onto a side of the door, before the door slammed shut! "Ah! What happened- oh." She spoke realizing that the door slammed on them. "Must of been the wind..." Kiki went over to the door and tried to open it again but it wouldn't budge! "Mmmm! ha... It won't open Jiji! I guess were stuck in here..." Jiji gave a disheartened and frightened meow. "It's okay Jiji! We'll be fine!" Picking up her broom and hefting it against her right shoulder.
And carrying her pink bag, Jiji followed. "Hello is anyone there?!" She yelled out until she walked and came across a bunch of people. "oh! Is that goat alright?!" She asked skittering over to the group as she knelled over at the poor animal in worry. "Oh! I'm Kiki by the way!" Kiki introduced herself. Jiji meowed in annoyance, "Oh! And this Jiji!"

Esmeralda was still standing next to Pocahontas with Djali in her arms. She carressed his fever-burning tiny body, and Djali looked up at them all with mild brown goat eyes, trying to wag his tiny tail as to say how happy he was to see them all. He shifted a bit in Esmeralda's arms, and Esmeralda knew why. Djali loved the indian Princess Pocahontas, and now he wanted to rest in her arms for a bit. Esmerald smiled warmly to Pocahontas, offering her to hold him in her arms. She knew that the indian Princess would watch him just as carefully as Esmeralda herself did.
((I hope you don't mind I placed Djali in your arms Poca. ;D ^^ ))
Esmeralda noticed a tiny woman with huge spectacles coming into the room, and shortly after, she was followed by a young teenage girl. She gave them a nod, before focusing on Djali again. The friendly policewoman Elisa suggested they all gathered round Djali, and Esmeralda smiled.
"Great idea, Elisa. I am afraid my warmth alone is not enough for him. He has a burning fever. I hope I will be capable of stopping it before he catch pneumonia. Unfortunately I am out of the herbs I need to make medicine for him."

Just then creaking noises, could be heard somewhere in the darkness. They came slowly, but surely closer to the group, before they mysteriously stopped..
For a moment it was quiet... way too qiuet.
Then a lightning lit up the room for a second, and revealed a tall skeletal looking form. The way the purple woman gritted her teeth, together with the look in her eyes, made her look mentally disturbed. In general she somewhat resembled a certain Mrs Sparrow, for those who had ever had the pleasure of meeting the shrunken head. As the lightning lit her up, Yzma stepped out of the corner she`d been standing in. Is something troubling you? she questioned, one eyebrow inches above the other.
(jeez was that the best line i could come up with..)
