One morning, on awaking, on a whim he had decided to attend this event as a spectator. One in the gathering crowd caught his attention.
He troubled himself very little about it. He passed the time in laughing to himself at how the gypsy and the Hawaiian bickered endlessly. It was very Nani, wasn't it? To never back down.
"Whoot! Go Nani, go Nani!" David cheered kindly from where he sat. He waved around a comical rubber glove with her name on it.
He blinked.
Was that a fox and a chicken?

Eggheads? That was hardly a fair comparison. Really, when you actually analyzed that statement, it didn't make much sense at all! Milo was now doubting his ability to play football. Especially since he was pitted against Audrey - she could so much as poke him, and he'd get a bruise.
"Fine. The Supernovas," Milo said, a little disappointed that nobody went for The Atlanteans.
"You know, maybe I'll sit out for the first quarter," Milo said hesitantly, knowing that Jim probably wouldn't settle for that. Milo gulped, preparing for his death by Latina.

Esmeralda felt the ice cold glare from Lady Tremaine on the other team, and she could hear her ice cold voice say something about burning of gypsies, and Frollo. Esmeralda turned to Warren and poked him.
"Hey, Captain. Permission to dunk the aristocratic icicle in the mud? I want to get her off her high horse - and score a goal for our team while I'm at it."
She tilted her head in Elisa's direction.
"Hey, Elisa! Ever wanted to see what an aristocrat covered in mud looks like? How about a slam dunk sandwich?"
She eyed Lady Tremaine, hoping Elisa would understand that a slam dunk sandwich consisted of two players dunking a third player - preferably an opponent - into the mud.

Horrified, Gadget watched the fight in the bleachers. She'd thought the only injuries would be on the field.
With her first aid kit in tow, the little mouse ran over to the two ladies as the tall fox slinked away.
"Golly! Are you two okay? Do you need help? What was that all about?"

<<Is it okay if I start the game? If not, I'll delete, just tell me>> Basil had perused the book and felt he had a decent working knowledge of the game, such as it is. He didn't care much for team sports, but officiating was a different matter from participating. Besides, he had no desire to be trampled into the mud. The detective blew his whistle to command the attention of those present. "Are both teams ready? Right, let's have a clean game, gentlemen...and ladies." With his keen powers of observation, Basil knew no one could cheat without his seeing it. "May I have the team captains on the field for the toss?"<<This isn't gonna be easy--I sure don't know football >>

"You read my mind, Esme." Elisa grinned. "I just hope one of our spectators thought to bring a camera!"
Basil was calling the two teams together for a coin toss to start the game.
"Let's get ready to rumble!" Elisa called out. Several sets of heads swiveled towards her, eying her as if she sprouted a second head.
"It's an expression!" Elisa laughed.

Strapping her helmet on sh ran towards her team, as she glanced at Warren and the others. "Whoa! Hold it! Don't start until everyone's here!" She spoke panicked as she quickly ran up to her team, breathing heavily. "Okay... ready..." darn being lated sucked! And secretly Layla blames her Rper... "Alright! Game time!" She hollered.

Maid Marian smiled and turned to the blonde little angelic girl with the beautiful blue eyes. She looked up at her in surprise when the girl started saying a lot of words - and the pain in her leg subsided. She smiled mildly to the young girl.
"Thank you child," she said warmly. "such kindness should be rewarded. Would you like to come to my wedding as my Bridesmaid?"
She noticed a young man sitting in the box, obviously cheering on his girlfriend, judging from his eageress. When he looked in her and Lady Cluck's direction, she gave him a smile.
A little later a sweet female mouse arrived, and asked if she could help. This was after Foxy had attacked Lady Cluck, and Maid Marian was worried about Clucky's health. She gave the sweet mouse a smile.
"I was just taken care of by the princess here, but please - could you tend to Lady Cluck's shoulder. She has been bitten by a fox - and I am afraid she might catch rabies... or worse."

Edna Edna realized the game was about to start just as she also heard the word wedding and figured that her fashion designs can come to use. "Well as you can see I have to go the game is ready to start but if your in need of fashionable dresses, I'll be eager to help. Later darlings" The expert said as she raced down to her team ready for the game to start. Stitch Stitch who was nearby while taking his seat to watch Nani play the sport known as football looked at the large lady bird whos shoulder was hurt by something as he looked a bit worried. "Excuse me.. you ok?" The alien said as his ears lowered in worried for her safety.

Eilonwy was shocked when Maid Marion invited her to her wedding. As a bridesmaid. How wonderful. The young girl had never gotten the chance to witness a wedding, let alone, be in one. And all because she healed the woman's foot.
"Of course I would. I've always loved weddings. Well the idea of weddings. Not that I've ever seen one. But that doesn't matter. Of course. It would be my pleasure to serve as a bridesmaid at your wedding." she said smiling.
"Oh do excuse me, but it looks as if the game is about to start." she said running back off to the field.

Gadget was only too happy to clean and bandage Lady Cluck's wound. "It's not too bad," she consoled the chicken.
"But I don't have any rabies vaccine, or anything. I'm an inventor, not a doctor. Sorry."

Lady Cluck smiled to Stitch and Gadget.
"Thank you so much for your kindness, my young friends," she smiled. "I would love to invite you both to the wedding between Maid Marian and Robin Hood. I am Lady Cluck, Maid Marian's Lady-in-Waiting. Maid Marian is the favorite niece of King Richard the Lionhearted."
Maid Marian smiled to Gadget as well.
"It is nice to make your aquaintance, Miss. Do not worry about the vaccine. I am certain the gypsy woman out on the football field will be capable of helping us. I know one thing about gypsies: They live close to the nature, and cure themselves with herbs and plants."

"Me? I'd love to go! Thanks so much!"
Gadget had never been to anybody's wedding before, but it sounded exciting. And romantic.
She finished tending to Lady Cluck and returned to her place on the sidelines, awaiting the start of the game.

The Hawaiian witnessed the piece of folly which the gypsy had committed. She turned red, then furious, and began to utter obscenities under her breath like a stubborn child before the smug Clopin, who sneered at her.
She crossed her arms indignantly, stepped back into the game, and awaited the official’s orders. She was thankful Basil called to the team’s attention the winning start of the game, thinking arrogantly on how she was going to hang the opposing team by their undergarments whilst singing the Hawaii state anthem.
Mushu, on the other hand, was just happy they were getting started.
“Get ready quarterbacks! If any of the otha’ kids don’t play nice witchu, remember, kick them where dah sun dun shine! OK?” he said, grinning obliviously. “Good. I’m glad you cows undahstand what I be sayin’!”
Mushu let out an exaggerated sigh and plopped beside Foxy. “I did good, didn’t I?” he snickered. “We’ll be havin’ broken bones in no time! I can just see it now! Them suckas are gonna cry for their mommas, but their mommas won’t hear them ‘cuz they’ll be too busy doin’ the Hokey Pokey with their fractured behinds.”
"I don't know about'chu, but I'mma set some music! What's a football game without music, man?!" he exclaimed, snapping his fingers.
A minute later:
CALIFORNIA LOVVVEE!
California...knows how to party, California...knows how to party. In the citaaay of L.A. In the citaaay of good ol' Watts In the citaaay, the city of Compton We keep it rockin! We keep it rockin!
Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of . . .

Basil shook his head in pity. This was his fellow referee?
It was going to be a long game.
