The night was nearing daybreak when David dozed off. He could barely hear her soft breathing caressing his bare chest; he moved with natural stealth and care, wrapping a lazy arm around her unusually dainty form, enjoying the faint scent of Plumeria on her skin.
The Hawaiian rested his broad chin on top of her head even as she had the inclination to move about in her sleep, holding her in place so she wouldn't kick or slap him. She didn't like to stay still, it seemed.
He sighed quietly, restoring the silence but not the peaceful thoughts that filled his mind. Even in sleep he could not rest without being grateful for having her beside him.

Nani tilted her head slightly, a pouty look on her slightly pudgy features as she realized the feel of his arm wrapping over her torso. She was pressing her hand against his cheek, lightly prodding his face with her foot (don't ask how) childishly as she wrinkled her nose in her sleep.
She was restless even in sleep.
She twisted round, huffing and groaning, and she did not flinch at his chin resting upon her head. But this did not cease her poking. "Ugh, no! No! No more cheeseburgers! It's going to my thighs. I - I can't take it anymore." she complained, growling, her foot padding against his face again.
"Mmmmffff!" she whined, but was soon met with the darkness, and she opened her eyes. She let out a horrible gasp, clinging tightly to him.
"David. Oh God, I had the most horrible dream. I dreamed I was huge! The Burger King Lolo was stuffing my face even as I told him to stop!" she said, sounding a little hoarse. Her body beckoned her to rest, but her mind resisted the gesture. She noticed how her foot was pressed up against poor David's face.
Oops.
She was glad she took a shower before going to sleep (she bathes three times a day...fun fact 0_o). She blinked and quickly drew back her foot.
"Uh, sorry about that." She murmured sleepily, snuggling beside him like a child would with a doll.
The Burger King Lolo:
She looked up to him, asking:
"Do you really think I'm fat?"

He leaned in and spoke softly into her ear. “It's ok, Nani. It's o --"
No sooner had David spoken than he found his entire face poked by a foot. He sighed daintily and allowed her to continue her prodding. He was gifted with quite a patience that'd make the typical, temperamental hothead ponder.
It was the second time she had brought her foot to his face. His young love's scrunched up face was adorable, steadily darkening as the nightmare neared its end, her mouth uttering the last few seconds of it. He blinked in utter confusion, somewhat amused.
"Ko`u Aloha (My love), bad dream, yes?" he asked quietly, stroking her hair to better soothe her.
Cheeseburgers? Nani was afraid of cheeseburgers? Or was it her thighs she was afraid of? David wasn't very bright, but he tried. The loving ditz held her in place as she opened her eyes. They were wide with fear as she uttered the King's odd deeds.
Elvis? She was afraid of Elvis?! He arched an eyebrow, trying his best to understand her.
"Oh, it is the Cheeseburger Man?" he asked, finally getting her point. He laughed quietly.
"No, Nani, I do not t'ink you are fat." He said, lifting her chin up with a finger to indicate that he was indeed honest in his words.
"You're just...curvy." He added simply.
The night was bliss for him if Nani couldn't tell. He smiled slyly.
"Someone's been watching too many Sci-Fi movies. Not good for you, especially ones that start around midnight..." he chided, narrowing his eyes playfully.

Nani wrinkled her nose with a stubborn air as she fumbled to pull the sheets over her head to shun the smug David. This was all done playfully, of course. "You're one to talk," she sighed into the pillow, grumbling like an old grump.
She poked her head out to give his finger a playful bite before retreating back to her blanket sanctuary. "Don't touch the chin, David. I'm feeling a little irritable tonight." She said, smirking. She emerged after a minute or two and sighed, pressing her slender fingers to his larger ones, playing around for the sake of entertainment. She was a little bored.
"I'm kinda not sleepy anymore." Nani said. "And I blame it all on you." She poked around for the remote control. She wanted to watch a movie now.
She crawled around snooping for it. How juvenile.

He cradled her with meticulous care, as if cupping precious water in his palms. For now, he would remain quiet, and perhaps enjoy her presence just the same.
He felt something sharp nip at his finger, and drew it back in shock. The look on her face was concealed by the blanket, his eyes straining to see her through the darkness. The Hawaiian finished speaking with an uneven breath in her normally sly voice.
He didn't notice when Nani searched for the remote control until she touched his leg, causing him to arch an eyebrow. He got the control and turned on the television, amusement visible in his soft, brown eyes, as Nani continued her fruitless search for what he had already found.
"Honey," he said softly, with a chuckle, "I have it right here. Ooh, ready to go back to the 1920's? Charlie Chaplin's on."
David noticed the Silent Actor's hopeful face, realizing that the protagonist was once again in love, this time with a woman of class and beauty.
"Poor guy. He never wins." He said sympathetically, hugging Nani round the waist.

Nani leaned back against him in an almost possessive act, resting her head against his neck and pressing her hand to his cheek affectionately. She could sense the curve of his smile as he spoke in her ear.
The guards were silent and unmoving as the silent actor crept away with even steps, her heart beginning to pound as he drew near to his doom, now facing a horde of angry policemen. Nani was drawn to the film, hoping that somehow the brave protagonist would escape to see his lady fair.
"He never does, does he?" she said, as Chaplin ran amok with his wobbling bowler hat. A laugh burst from her lips followed by a couple of unattractive snorts. The Hawaiian blinked, hid her face in her hands, and blushed.
"Ugh, sorry. When I laugh too hard I tend to snort." She apologized, embarrassed with herself. "It's just...look at his FACE! It looks like he's going to die!"

He did not look up as he felt the Hawaiian relax in his arms, but he suppressed another sigh of satisfaction, for her touch was warm and inviting. David rested his chin, again, daintily on her head, and was quick to admire her lovely scent.
“Interesting man,” he commented, cuddling her, too distracted to care for what happened to the brave, somewhat foolish protagonist. “Just can’t stay out of trouble. Like you.”
At length, the shy David permitted himself a small chuckle and smiled sweetly, expecting ahead of time sharp words to escape his feisty love’s lips, still careful and gentle with how he handled her in his tender embrace.
The surfer pursed his lips, bit back a little laugh, and commented his beloved. “Let me let you in on a little secret,” he began, tracing his chin with his long fingers. “You have a lovely laugh. Now –-“
He let out a yelp of surprised as the commercial flickered, loud and simply earth shattering! He felt himself slide off the bed with Nani. “Oh bruddah,” he said comically, finishing his sentence with a dull thud.
He looked down and gasped. He had crushed her!
“Nani?” he squeaked.
Oh...what an interesting postion, he thought, blushing. He rolled off her and bit his lip.
She was going to hang him by his boxers and sing the national anthem...
[[x3 I love you, Nani.]]

There was a short silence before the sheets were heard to shift. She was dreaming that the television seemed farther away from her than usual. She blinked silently. “What the –“ she could not finish her sentence, without a startled yelp, and was crushed by pounds of bulky muscle. She poked out a slender hand weakly and twitched. The air had escaped her lungs, left breathless to the bountiful air around her. Literally.
Nani groaned, David rolling off with the guiltiest look on his face since Lilo. She began to breathe, her dark eyes narrowing dangerously, a passing ambulance, not too far from the building, on cue, sounded its blaring sirens. She gnashed her teeth together and flung herself on him.
“Heeeey!” she cried, straddling him. “I’m tender!”
She looked coy, a finger pressed to her lips in a curious manner, appearing unusually sly. She slowly fell back, gasping, “Oh, no! Gravity is increasing on me!”
Nani felt her weight crush him little by little. David was going to need a hospital, quick!
“Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light. What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?" she sang softly, sinking down, down....her hand pressed to her forhead in a mocking salute.

He crawled off towards her, and just as he reached her, David said, in a panicked voice, not too brightly: "Nani, are you all right? Uwe? I killed her. Oh, bruddah."
He slapped a hand over his lips to repress a gasp. He was about to perform CPR (Lol, David's such a ditz), but his love tackled him to the floor. "Nani, you gave me quite a scare there." He said, blinking.
The abashed David then raised his eyes. Nani was so close to him: she leaned back gracefully, exposing the caramel skin of her back; his lips formed a not-so-innocent smile, and he wore a feigned look of torture and pain. She wasn't all that heavy to him, really.
"Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming." David sang, not sounding quite as pretty as Nani, catching her and making a swift turn, now making his victory known by resting on top of her. He blinked and looked around, jokingly of course, uttering, "Nani? Hmm, where did you go?"
"Why do you keep disappearing?" he asked, grinning childishly. Merciful David rolled off her and flung her over his shoulder, carrying her, only to drop her back on the bed.
"There you are." He finished, sitting beside her, wearing a most impish grin. He leaned in to give her an apologetic kiss.

Nani, huffing in the middle of the room, was flushed and indignant; her crimson lips trembled with the fury that was suppression of failure. She crossed her arms in bitter dismay and turned her cheek stubbornly, wrinkling her nose, crossed.
"You win," Nani told him, grumbling. "Well, since you..." she pulled back as he attempted a kiss, shifty-eyed and blinking. She gently pressed a soft pillow to his lips, and with a sly smile, made kissy noises.
"Oh," she began, in tones of praise, "David, you kiss wonderfully. Never knew you had it in you, Tiger." She snickered, seeing how into it he seemed. To be honest, she wasn't ready for...kissing.
She secretly thought it was, well, weird.
[x3 Nani has a phobia for kissing! LOL!]
