The animal kingdom reminded Robin so much of the forest at home. It was also very quiet so that he and Marian could make their weeding plans with few interruptions. He had used the little money he had "borrowed" from Prince John that he hadn't given away to pay for a nice room for the day.
The day was going to be very eventful and maybe just a little romantic. Robin couldn't wait for Marian to arrive. Any time he spent away from her always made him long to be around her.

Maid Marian and Lady Cluck went slowly through the animal Kingdom, laughing and talking about the planned wedding. Marian looked forward to finally get married to her childhood sweetheart Robin.
"Oh, Clucky, we are late! Do you think he is tired of waiting?"
Lady Cluck laughed at the nervousness in Marian's voice.
"Calm down, child. As your Lady-in-waiting, I can guarantee you that waiting for you is never tiresome. Oh, there he is already. Hello young man, I bring your future wife to this meeting, safe and sound, as I promised."
Maid Marian blushed deeply by the sight of the handsome fox that soon were going to be her husband. Her dark brown eyes glittered like stars under her long, dark eyelashes, and she looked shyly up at him.
"Hello, Robin," She smiled. "Have you missed me?"

When Marian arrived Robin immediately got up hugged her and gave her a kiss.
"I knew you would bring her back to me. You care about Marian as much as I do Miss Cluck. Marian I miss you every time we are not together. I do hope that out wedding will be everything you have always wanted to be."

Maid Marian blushed deeply when Robin hugged and kissed her. She hugged and kissed him back, wondering if she would ever stop acting like a schoolgirl in love when ever she saw him. Every time she noticed his handsome features, her heart beat faster, and she blushed deeply. Still smiling she held his hands in hers, latching her tiny fingers into his. She had stars in her eyes, and a wide smile on her face.
"I miss you too, Robin. The years in France when I didn't see you every day were the longest years of my life. I was so afraid you would forget me."
She rested her head on his shoulder.
"As long as you are the groom in my wedding, I know it will be everything I have ever dreamed about."
Lady Cluck chuckled with laughter and looked over at Marian and Robin.
"I have taken care of her, never leaving her alone for a moment. I indeed care about her. But I doubt anyone can love her as much as you can, Robin Hood."
Marian blushed and looked up at Robin again.
"About the wedding... we have a lot to plan. Which day do you want it to be? And do you have special wishes for the arrangements? Where should we let it take place? And who will wed us? My uncle Richard the Lionhearted will join our wedding to give me away to you."

Robin smiled at Marian's questions, she had many and he was happy to give her anything she wanted.
"A day? I'm not sure what would be the most appropriate. My only wish is that we can live happily together. As for the place there are many romantic places in this park including that castle. Speaking of that I hear people get married near that large castle all the time so maybe we can find someone to marry us there. I am glad that Richard will be there."
Robin then put one arm around Marian to hold her closer to him.

Marian blushed when Robin put an arm around her and pulled her closer to him. She wondered quietly if she would ever stop blushing by the sight of him. She had a feeling that she always would love him like she did now, and like she had for many years now.
"We can get married in a castle? Oh, Robin! How romantic! Uncle Richard insisted on him being there to give me away. My father however wanted me to marry Prince John, so uncle Richard has told him to stay away so he won't ruin our day."
She tilted her head and looked up at him with a smile.
"Oh, Robin, I almost forgot! I met a friend of yours the other day. Basil of Baker Street. He was very kind and friendly to Clucky and me, so I invited him to the wedding! I got his autograph! You know I always loved his books. And with all the favors he have done for England, it is a shame he hasn't been knighted yet. I have to talk to uncle Richard about that.
I have also invited some other friends of mine, though I don't know if you've met them. They will be in the wedding, so you can meet them there. Have you decided who your best man will be at the wedding? Does Little John know about this? And Frere Tuck?"

"I am glad that Basil is doing well these days. He does a lot of good work, there is no doubt that he will get knighted one day. No, I haven't given much thought to my best man, I still only know a few people around here. Unfortunately, I also haven't heard from either Little John or Frere Tuck since I arrived here."

Maid Marian smiled and looked up at Robin, snuggling closer to him.
"Robin? About the knighthood.... I am thinking of speaking to Uncle Richard the next time I see him.... maybe even get him to knight Basil in our wedding. Wouldn't that be fun?"
She looked thoughtful for a moment.
"And about the wedding.... I am certain we will find someone that may have the authority to wed us. I have met a very nice lion. He looks like Uncle Richard. His name is Kovu. If you don't have a best man yet, maybe he could be your best man? I invited him, and said he could bring a lady friend with him."
She sighed.
"I don't know very many people here either."

"If you say Kovu is a nice guy, then I would be happy to have him as my bast man for the wedding."
Robin's tail then moved closer to Marian until it gently wrapped around her tail. Robin was lost for a moment as he looked into the eyes of the woman he would marry soon. He couldn't explain just how happy he was to be close to the woman of all his dreams.
"That is unfortunate, but there are many adventures to be had. After we get married we can adventure together and hopefully meet many new people in this place."

"He is very nice. And he said he would bring along his fair maiden. I think her name is Esmeralda. Uncommon name, but I like it. He seemed to be very taken in with her."
Maid Marian smiled and blushed a little when she noticed Robin's tail gently wrapped around her tail. She was lost for a moment as she looked into the eyes of the man she soon would be married to. She couldn't explain just how happy she was to be close to the man of all her dreams.
"Speaking of which, he doesn't seem to be the only man in love around here...."
She giggled by the face expression of Robin, and for a moment her lips were only inches away from his.
"Ehhhh... shouldn't we start planning our wedding, before we start planning our life after the wedding?"

"Esmeralda? That name sounds familiar for some reason. I must have met her somewhere before. Well if you were going to fall in love his place is one of the most romantic places to do so."
It was Robin's turn to blush. It was true that he was easily distracted by his own plans for their future together. As they got closer it didn't make it any easier for him to keep his mind on the task at hand.
"You are right, we should be talking more about our wedding. I always was a big dreamer, and when it comes to you I can't help but be lost in our love now and in the future. Now that there is no one to keep me away from you I want to be close to you for as long as I can, and right now..... I want to kiss you again."

Maid Marian smiled and looked over at Robin again.
"The lion I spoke to, Kovu, looked like uncle Richard. Do you think that he could be a son of uncle Richard? In that case, Prince John's claim to the throne of England is in danger. The son of a king has more right to inherit than a brother of a king. I will try to arrange a meeting between those two before the wedding, so I invited the lion and his sweetheart to the pre-wedding tea."
Marian noticed Robin's blushing, and looked at his handsome features. She could still not believe that she had won the heart of the legendary Robin Hood - the brave man who gave hope to the poor people of Nottingham. With his brave and clever ways to trick uncle John and steal the taxes her uncle had taken from the poor unfortunate people - how could she not love Robin Hood?
"Uncle Richard is coming to see me next week. Should we try to get married then? Or is that too soon for you?"
Her voice was teasing when she spoke to him, but when she heard the last words he said to her, it was her turn to blush, and her heart pounded in her chest. She wanted to kiss him too, but she didn't dare to admit that when Lady Cluck was in the room. Lady Cluck had turned her back to them, pretending she didn't hear what was going on... but still....
Maid Marian lowered her gaze and looked at her tiny paws, that were neatly folded in her lap. She was trembling, like always when she was with Robin. This trembling however, did not come from fear, but from the strong love she felt for him. She had waited for him for years, and now, finally, she was soon going to be his bride.
"I guess," she whispered shyly, not daring to look at him, "if you want to kiss your future wife, nobody can stop you...."

"Related to Richard? If that is true then prince john is definitely going to be very unhappy. It is great that he is coming next week, I would marry you today if I could."
Robin was still blushing a little at Marian's words. He wasn't shy, but she always made him feel happy. He may be a legend in the minds of many, but the only woman he had ever wanted to be with was her. He had loved her ever since he was a child and even gave her a ring. As he moved closer to her his heart was beating even faster, he had kissed her before, but this was the first time he had told he before instead of just stealing a kiss.
"I only wanted to make sure you where ready this time."
Robin's blush didn't go away as his lips slowly met hers. He was sure it was real this time, he couldn't have imagined everything going this well.

Maid Marian blushed when Robin wanted to marry her today. She would have wanted to marry him too, as soon as possible, but Lady Cluck said that a lady of royal family needed to have a proper wedding. Next week was the earliest date Lady Cluck could offer. Maid Marian was marrying Robin against her father's will, so to make the marriage legal, it would take a king to give the bride away. And King Richard had a long way to travel and could be here next week, earliest.
"Robin, you know I want to marry you as soon as possible, but my father might try to break up our marriage if I am not given to you by a person higher ranking than him. And uncle Richard is the only person I know that ranks higher than my father."
She blushed when she noticed him coming closer to her, and she looked up at him with her dark brown eyes.
"I don't want anyone to break us up, Robin. It would break my heart to get separated from you. The grief would kill me."
She leaned against him, and when her lips slowly met his, she closed her eyes and embraced him, not wanting to release him again, ever.

When Marian embraced him during their kiss, Robin felt happy. His heart had been beating so fast that it was almost unreal. After a few moments he was able to part from her. He then smiled in only the way he could, and held her hands.
"It is alright I can see that you are just as eager as I am. When Richard arrives I am sure that all the good people we have met will be ready for our marriage. No one is ever going to take me away from you, and I won't be letting you out of my sight any time soon."
