So, the Platinum DVD of Sleeping Beauty just came out today. (Probably going to get a copy some time soon since I only have a VHS from like nine years ago) And this is probably one of Walt Disney's greatest movies.
So, what are your guy's opinions on Sleeping Beauty and the Re-release and such?

Well, Sleeping Beauty has always been my older sister's favorite [as well as Peter Pan - she is a classics girl], so we have the older Special Edition DVD. I agree that Sleeping Beauty is an amazing film, one of Walt's best. Though as for me, I'm more into the 1990's Disney [Beauty and the Beast being my favorite ], so I can't say Sleeping Beauty is in my Top 10.
I see it like Snow White. Though it's not a personal faovirte of mine, I can still really appreciate the hard work that went in to it. And the fact that Sleeping Beauty was the last fairy-tale until The Little Mermaid, is pretty amazing. I actually think that Sleeping Beauty was Walt's last great film, in my opinion.

Yeah! I just got the DVD today... I don't have the other one you said you have, but I now have this one.
It's been sooo long since I've seen this movie!! D: It's good to see it, and it was greatly restored!!
Truthfully one of my least favorite Walt Disney movies(besides sequels!!) is ... Cinderella. -covers face- ... I don't know! I just don't think it is as inspiring ... -shrugs-

Well as you can obviously imagine {Seeing as I play her} Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney film. Ever since I was a little girl. I had the old Special Edition DVD. But I had to add this one into my collection. So yesterday, after school, I rushed down to Wal-Mart {since its the closest to my house} and got myself a copy of it, A nice bottle of Coke and some snacks {Disney Princess Gummies were included xD. Ha what can I say, I love the Princesses} and I had my evening set.
I gotta say it was a wonderful memory. I watch Sleeping Beauty often, seeing as its my favorite but seeing it, in such beautiful high definition just blew me away. I was mesmerized by the film. I actually just finished watching it again. I'm still sort of in awe. Ha it was a wonderful evening though.
I loved the bonus features especially the interview with Mary Costa. Isn't she just lovely? I can see how they modeled Aurora after her so easily. And she was just adorable in her interview as well. That was one of my favorite parts of the DVD
Only feature I wasn't too keen about was that one music video with that girl from Hannah Montana. -sigh- She ruined my favorite Disney song with her Bubblegum-teen-pop beat. Okay rant over.
But yeah this DVD was wonderful =)
