Esme, I know how you feel, and I dearly hope your beloved father will be well again. A good friend of mine from elementary school lost his life to a rare form of cancer at the age of eleven. And what pained me the most was that I never got to say good-bye.
But I'm very thankful that my father is still with me after a battle with skin cancer. I hope the same goes for you to reunite with your father. As my uncle once put it - "Cancer is the worst way to die."
2008 has truly been eventful, probably one of the best years ever. Minus getting all A's on my report card, making new friends, and trying new oppurtunities, WoD took a big role this year.
Will 2009 be even better? Who knows, but we'll be ready.
And Nani... -runs away from her skirts- Tried hula dancing once when I was three, living in Hawaii. Didn't like it xD

I support...
...not only my father, but everyone in his situation, their families and friends. My thoughts are with you all, and I feel the pain you're going through. A big hug from one in your situation.
Hi everybody!
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful support you have showed to my father and myself. I had no idea that the little talk we had in the c-box could be the beginning of something so grand. Let me tell you all about it.
My father, who raised me in the spirit of Walt Disney, being a Disney lover himself, is seriously ill from cancer. The doctors say he will not survive this Christmas. I visit him every day at the hospital. Each time I visit him, I print out some of the threads from this site, and read them for my father.
I must tell you, there are a lot of wonderful rp'ers here, and they all have a great sense of humor. With each thread I wrote, I made my father laugh. The doctors say that the laughs he get from this site and from all you wonderful people, has kept him alive longer than they expected.
As the days passed by, and the other cancer patients at the hospital heard the laughing from my father's room, they started dropping by when I arrived, so more and more of them started listen to the threads I have read for my father. And they started laughing as well. You guys are now contributing to bringing joy to 15 patients with cancer.
The doctors are in awe over what is happening. There have never been so many patients on their way to get better ever in that hospital. Now when I arrive, even the doctors and nurses come to listen when I read.
Today I brought the support thread to my father and started reading for him. Guys, my father is a military officer. Before he became ill, he was big and strong, and could handle anything that happened in life, no matter how bad it looked. Never once have I seen him cry.
But today when I read this support thread, written by all you wonderful people out there, he started crying like a baby. And so did the rest of the patients. One of them said: "I can't believe there are actually people out there that cares about us!" And my father lifted his head, wiped the tears off his face, and replied proudly: "Yes there is! And they are all my kids, each and every one of them!" He turned to me and said: "When you come home today, log on to WoD, and tell all those kids how much we appreciate their support, and how much I love each and every one of them. "
I am so proud of you guys! I feel honored to know you all and to be your friend. Today we have proven that the magic works, and that the spirit of Disney is still alive.
I love you all! <3333
*Hugs*
Esmeralda and her father.

I'm seriously in tears right now. That was amazing. I had no idea that what we were, and still are doing is touching so many lives. Things like this make all of this worthwhile. Here's to more to come ~ Jane/Milo/Marvin

I love you all! <3333 *Hugs* Esmeralda and her father. Esmeralda, that is beautiful! It's good to know that the spirit of Disney has been proven to work! Please tell your father this. Although Disney may not be talked about much like back in the day, there are people out there who certainly has the kind spirit I have found within him, you, and this family of mine. This thread is for not just him, so I'm happy to know that we are making more than just one person happy out there. It's good to know that everyone here is sharing and continuing the magic Disney has brought your father and his people during his childhood. This thread, when you post I support, let's us know you consider us family, despite our blood, nothing can break this tie of ours. And that we promise, just like our father, Walt Disney, we will continue bringing the magic he has discovered through imagination, for us, for Esmeralda's father, and for every viewer out there who feels the same way. It is here, when you post, that you are considered family. Everyone in this thread, is now in each others' extended family tree. Here's to our family, the Disney family! -Kopa/Bolt

I support!
I support you Esme, and your father, and all those who ahve lost a loved one or are in the process of it. I know how it is to be worried over them, and to know that people care, that they want updates on how he's doing, to show their support, would bring a tear to anyone's eyes.
My grandfather on my mom's side died of pancreatic cancer before I was even thought of. my mom was 12 or 13. An uncle of mine died of lung cancer. And my father has been hospitalized in near-death situations twice by my memory. The first was when he was bitten by a copperhead in the hills (he's a logger) and the doctors didn't give him any anti-venom till about a day after he'd been there. He eventually pulled through, thanks to the prayers of my friends and family. Recently he was having chest pains, and the doctors thought he may have had a slight heart attack.
So I know how you feel, Esme. It's terrifying, not knowing what's going to happen. But it makes thigns better knowing there are people there to love and support you no matter what.
I've only been here a short while, but everyone has welcomed me with wide open arms, and I'm already part of the Worlds of Disney family. And we are a family here, and we'll always be there for eachother like one. I love each and everyone of you, and hope to know you more and longer,
Merry Sunday Before Christmas, Esme's Daddy. I'm glad you think of us as your children as we've come to think of you as another father to us as well.
Here's looking at you kid.
