Wasn't sure if this was meant to be in the general chat or the Disney chat but since it's about disney characters...
Out of the characters you role play on here, what one do you find the most challenging to play?

I have a hard time with Panchito sometimes, mostly because there is so little to work with. He only appears in half of his movie, plus 2 episodes of House of Mouse and some comic books I've only seen exerpts from.
Several times he's gotten into situations in which it took me days to figure out how he would react. I still can't quite get how he would feel about some characters.
But I enjoy fleshing him out, as he's always been one of my top 5 Disney characters.

Tiger Lily. It's rather hard to communicate without many words.

Post by Zira on Jan 3, 2009 13:40:33 GMT -5
Strangely...Meg.
Zira is dead easy for me. I just let my imagination run wild as Zira tends to think up these hatred filled, unrealistic plans, and I also add some humour into this, because I'm cool. I can understand Zira very well, and see some reasoning to all her hate towards Simba and the others.
Meg on the other hand, is sassy, quick-talking and confidant, but then kinda melts after meeting Herc. I kinda call this pre-Herc Meg and post-Herc Meg, and try to blend them. Sometimes I get it right, or it just looks schizophrenic. Or I'll get her gestures right and her speech wrong, or the other way round.
But I love playing them both!

I'd have to say Snow Prince. He plays such a minor part in his film, and he doesn't even have a name. As such, I've had to give him a name myself, as well as pretty much make up his personality and history from scratch. But it's been fun, and as far as I know, I'm the only person who's ever been willing to take him on.

I'd have to say Auto. He is very emotionless and determined to fufill his job. It's a bit strange to play a robot that doesn't have human feelings, like EVE and M-O.
Then again, EVE is also a tad difficult for me to play- one, she is female, I'm a male. xD Two- she is in love with WALL-E and I've never been in love (in a romantic sense), myself.

For me, it is Hercules who is the hardest character to play. He is a big, brawny superhero who likes to beat up villains, and I am relatively peaceful. *Coughcough* Captain Teague Sparrow can be hard to play sometimes, but usually, I think I manage him. As for Esmeralda, she's the easiest to play of my characters. She and I have a lot in common.

Pocahontas and Kovu are easier for me because I can relate to them so much. There is a lot of information on their pasts that I can incorporate into my posts.
Clayton, however, is a puzzle at times. Very little information is avalible on him so I have to make most of it up on my own. I wanted Clayton to have a vunerable side, so I contributed family loss to his hunting obsession. Also, the original books provided a neat plot twist of Clayton's title of Lord and his relations with Tarzan.

Surprsingly, Katrina is fairly simple, especially since she doesn't use words in the film. It's rather difficult to just analyze her through actions and facial expressions (not to mention I couldn't even understand the narrator's nearly inaudible voice in the film).
I'd rate Alice and Wendy at the same difficulty level, since they're alike in personality and manners. But I admit that Wendy's slightly managable because she's a character you can relate to quite easily, not to mention that I'm more familiar with Peter Pan than perhaps any Disney movie.
Alice is the most difficult for me when trying to portray her as a comical character. I still find her to be the most obscure child in fiction.

Well, Pain and Panic can be kinda difficult to play--they have so many different personalities. I mean, they're not, like, pure evil--they can be evil, or they can be good, sometimes they're sentimental, sometimes they're just cruel. All the time they're goofballs, so, yeah. Hades comes naturally. I've been a Hades fan since I the movie came out. I love everything about him--and after years of fanfics, I've gotten pretty good at talking, acting like him. Here is no exception--it's so natural. And Hecate's pretty easy, too. So, I'm gonna go with Pain and Panic.

When it comes to villains, I play them with ease. I tend to relate with mad, nonsensical characters easily because of how mentally unstable they are. I feel a certain freedom with Hook and Frollo, especially since they require a little more imagination than Nani.
Surprise, surprise! It turns out my very first character is the most difficult to portray. -Sighs- I regret picking Nani over Mulan! XD What the heck was I thinking?! -Wishes she could turn back time-
I play such a horrible Nani. xP

Davy Jones. He is very hard to be serious when everyone makes you laugh! **Glares at Nani and Esme** SOME people do it more than others.

Basil is a snap. I've spent so many years obsess--that is, making up stories about him, that every post just comes out. In fact, I usually have too much to say and have to shorten them.
Sometimes it seems like he's writing them himself. Scary.

Strangely I find Lady more difficult to play than Peter. There's been a lot of movies and books and such around Peter Pan so I have a lot more to go on. Plus I've always loved that Peter acts like he cares about no on and just wants to have fun but he's one of the loneliest, complicated and deepest emotional characters ever. He has many different layers that conflict himself because of his obsessive need to stay young and free forever.
Lady's more difficult I find because she's so delicate yet at the same time can be very strong and demanding when she's angry. Also, with no Tramp or any other characters around apart from Angel, I find it difficult on how she would react around other characters on her own. I always imagine her curious but timid but I can never quite get it right. xD

Post by Jim Hawkins on Jan 4, 2009 15:55:35 GMT -5
Jim is definitely more difficult than Howl. Howl is very calm and aimable, and he's the most sociable of my boys. I've yet to place him in a very comical situation, but Howl's good at freaking out, so he also posesses a funny element, which I love in a character. I've been told that I have a very eloquent writing style, which is appropriate for Howl, seeing as he is older, somewhat wiser, and his voice actor is Christian Bale... who deserves to use such lovely words... *drools*
Warren's also a breeze. He's got a pretty simple character when you get right down to it, mostly angry, but he can be calm and suave if he wants to. I just have to resist placing Warren in embarassing situations and then have him freak out, since Warren isn't much of a comic spazz. Warren is also from modern times, so the factor of whether the character will know what a phone, mp3 player, etc. is gets eliminated.
But I have to tone it down with Jim, use slang, and think like a teenage boy. And I'm just about as girly as you can get. Even though both of us are the same age, we're pretty much polar opposites when it comes to character. I'm happy-go-lucky, hyperactive, and crazy, and he's moody, a little angry, and he doesn't have great self esteem, either. I end up snapping in a gold hoop and throwing on black boots, watching a few scenes of Treasure Planet, and listening to I'm Still Here a few times over to get into character, and then I can't stop! I'll be sulking around as Jim even when I'm done posting!
