Character's Personality:
RAGETTI: Ragetti is pretty earnest…for a pirate. After sailing on a many ships and working under the command of a couple of captains, he has seen a lot in his day, yet some how he is always the optimistic one in the pack. He craves adventure, like any pirate would, and his thriving curiosity of the world around him definitely propels that desire. He is a very loyal individual and he tries to keep his promises. His loyalty went to his first captain, Barbossa. Yet he always admired Jack Sparrow and even proclaimed that he was fond of him and wanted to genuinely save him, despite the fact that everyone else wanted to save him for selfish reasons. But most of all, he is loyal to his faithful companion Pintel, who he has spent most of his life with. Despite losing one eye, there is something that he can definitely see very clearly—he can see into the heart of people. He’s very observant due to his curious personality, and even though he might seem (and sometimes act) like a simpleton, he is very smart and can see into the root of things. Despite his nervous demeanor, Ragetti is a deep thinker and happens to be firm believer in omens, religion, superstitions, and is observant of moral (at least as much as a pirate can be). His often frequent interjections of his knowledge as well as flaming curiosity of many different subjects can provide insight as well as hilarity to many situations.
PINTEL: Pintel is a true pirate, through and through. He’s a rough man, who is not afraid to get vicious with someone when he needs to. Like his partner in crime, Ragetti, he craves adventure, seeking treasures, and all the benefits of open sea pirate life. He’s not afraid to follow, or break, or challenge the rules (or code) when it is beneficial to him. He does get annoyed easily and is frustrated when things don’t make sense. He’s a complainer as well and makes it known when he doesn’t like what he sees or when the situation is not a promising one. Yet he’s very clever, and takes pride of his wits, often teaming up with Ragetti in devious plots and plans. He’s also one who is very interested in pirate lore and stories, and likes to brag about the adventures, tales, and people he’s encountered along his travels. But unlike his friend, he scoffs at silly omens, and superstitious folly…even if he doesn’t quite take the bad things that happen to him in stride.
Character's History: Ragetti & Pintel started their adventures as a pirate on the Black Pearl under the command of Jack Sparrow and then first mate, Barbossa. That is, until Barbossa marooned Jack on an island and became captain of the Pearl himself. From then on out, Ragetti & Pintel were cannoneers for Barbossa, going after the cursed Cortez treasure. During those adventures, Ragetti lost his right eye in battle. Barbossa gave him a wooden one, which contained a piece of eight that Barbossa wanted protected. Ragetti made sure it was, even though he was tempted not to, as it often popped out of his eye and caused him much grief.
Eventually they did find that treasure, and unfortunately for them, they suffered in the curse—doomed to sail the seas undead, unable to feel anything. Ragetti & Pintel sailed with Barbossa to find the Aztec gold that would lift the curse. After running into Jack Sparrow again, the curse was eventually lifted, but soon afterwards, they found themselves in the hands of Norrington’s soldiers as a result. They were sent to jail, but being the pirates that they were, they escaped and sought after the Black Pearl. Meanwhile, Ragetti found religion and felt it was wise to protect their immortal souls now that they were mortal again. Pintel thought that was utterly ridiculous.
Ragetti and Pintel stumbled on the Black Pearl again and Jack Sparrow took them in as part of the crew. However, when the lot of them found the heart of Davy Jones, Ragetti and Pintel thought it would be best to go after the chest themselves, since the darn thing seemed to cause so much grief and ‘temptation’. In addition, when the Pearl was attacked by the Kraken, they both fought diligently—saving Elizabeth and dealing as much damage with the cannons as possible. Soon, however, the pair fled the Pearl along with the rest of the crew when Jack was taken into Jones’ Locker. The pair found themselves back with their first captain, Barbossa, when he was brought back to life to help find Jack Sparrow at World’s End. In the end of it all, Ragetti and Pintel fought side by side together against the East India Trading company in an epic battle. After victory, and after giving up Barbossa’s piece of eight, Ragetti resolved to carve his own eye, now preparing himself for more adventures to come.

Task:
Ragetti walked around, his eyelids open wide as saucers, mouth agape as he looked curiously around this large place. His hands fidgeted with the red scarf around his waist. The place really must’ve been the happiest place on earth. He mentally made a note of it in his head. Ragetti decided that it ranked high somewhere between Tortuga, Guana Island - which had all the catfish one could eat (yum catfish) – and of course pirate ships, at least not cursed ones anyway. Those type of ships haven’t been very kind to him.
Catfish really sounded good to him now. No, Ragetti, stay on task! He needed to find his pal Pintel, as he was waiting for him, and he would be mighty cross if he went and had catfish without him.
“Pinteeeel…” Ragetti cooed, quickening his pace. “Pintel, where ‘re ya, buddy?” Sure enough, the short balding man came marching up to him, anger already in his eyes.
"Curse ye to th' depths, Ragetti, I've been lookin all over for ya! What took you so long?" Pintel asked.
Ragetti shrugged. "I got distracted." He looked down at him. "Aren't you hungry for some catfish?"
"NO, I'm NOT hungry for some CATFISH." He said, mockery in his voice. He grabbed Ragetti's arm. "Let's go, ye git." As he turned around, he suddenly ran into someone. It was a little boy with a pirate hat on.
“Well ‘ello there!” Ragetti greeted, bending down to him.
“I’m lost!” The child whined. He looked up and finally got a good look at Ragetti and the other stout man. He let out a gasp. “You guys are pirates!”
Ragetti took a moment to register that observation and then he laughed, shrugging. “Oh yeah…you’re ri’te a’bout that.”
Pintel rolled his eyes. "Yes, th' lad has a keen sense of observation, good fer him, LET'S GO. We haven't got all year."
"But the lit'le guy's lost!" Ragetti said to Pintel, before turning to the kid again.
“Are you lost too?” The child asked. “Do pirates get lost?”
“Technically pirates don’t get lost. They usually have those lit’le compasses to tell ‘em where t’ go.” Ragetti explained.
Pintel sighed impatiently.
“So you have one, then right?” The child’s eyes brightened. His smile was beaming. “Then I can find where my parents are! Yay!!”
“Yay!” He laughed in delight with the child then stopped abruptly, frowning. He blinked rapidly in realization. “Wait a’ minute. I don’ re’lly ‘ave one a’ those...”
Pintel slapped his forehead, shaking his head.
“But you’re a pirate!” The child whined.
“I a’ready told you, you were ri’te a’bout that!” Ragetti frowned and sighed. “Iye, where did you just come from, mate?”
The child pointed behind him at a large pirate ship. “The pirate ship. Over there.”
“Pirate ship? Well we can head back that ‘er ways and look fer your mum an’ pops!” Ragetti looked towards where the child pointed and saw it clear as day. A pirate ship. Why hadn’t he seen it before? He then realized his peripheral vision wasn’t at it’s best, of course.
“Of course, th’ PIRATE SHIP!” Pintel said in exasperation, because that's exactly where they need to go. He gave Ragetti a slight slap in the head for being so oblivious. Ragetti's wooden eye then shot out of its socket.
The child’s eyes looked at the rolling eyeball and then at Ragetti in shock. “Mine!” He then ran off after it, towards the ship.
“No! Tha’s me eye! Give it back!” Ragetti shouted while running after him, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"I knew that'll get ya movin'!" Pintel shouted after him in triumph, following after them.
