<<Aslan>>
Username: Aslan
Movie(s) your character is in: Chronicles of Narnia (1&2)
Character's Personality: Wise and noble, Aslan is the perfect leader and guardian for Narnia. He appears to have a great love for the land and its people, ready to sacrifice himself if that is the cost. Aslan is fierce when it counts, and can easily scare Jadis with one mighty roar. His timing is perfect, even when all seems lost he arrives to save the day. Even though he is good, he is not a tame lion. One cannot expect him to stay in one place for too long before he moves on.
Character's History: Besides the movies, Aslan is also well known in the novels themselves (which will eventually; get turned into movies). I will keep these short and spoiler-free as much as I can.
The Magician’s Nephew: (novel: first in series)
This book introduces us to the world of Narnia. When Diggory and Polly are sent to the wood of the worlds. After accidentally freeing an evil witch, Jadis, they flee to a world that suddenly appeared in the wood. To their dismay, Jadis follows with a lamp-post. Together, they witness the creation of Narnia, by Aslan. Jadis is scared away by the magnificent Lion when she finds that throwing a lamp-post won’t scare the great beast. The lamp-post falls to the ground, and grows as a lamp-post tree.
With Diggory and Polly watching on, Aslan creates the talking animals of Narnia, as well as the dwarfs, fawns, centaurs, and other well know creatures from the earth. After this is done, he talks with Diggory and Polly. The Lion lets them know that they are responsible for the evil that has come to Narnia, the witch Jadis. He gives them the task of journeying to the edge of Narnia and retrieving a fruit that would protect Narnia for one thousand years. They do so, and Aslan plants the fruit. A tree grows from the place, bearing more of the magical fruit. He gives one to Diggory, saying that if his mother (who is very sick) eats it, she will live.
With his mother saved, and fruit seeds all that was left of the fruit, Diggory plants the seeds in his back yard next to the buried items that sent him and Polly to Narnia. The seeds grow into a tree without fruit. Later, when Diggory becomes a well-known Professor, the tree is blown down during a storm. Diggory takes the wood and builds it into a wardrobe.
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe: (second novel: made into movie)
The thousand years of protection has faded for Narnia. Jadis has returned as the White Witch, casting Narnia into eternal winter with no Christmas. But a prophecy of old is Narnia’s hope! “When Adam’s flesh, and Adam’s bone, sits upon Carplival in throne! Then the evil time will be over, and done!” Aslan, after sacrificing himself for Edmund, unlocks the deep magic. After this, he goes and kills Jadis, and crowns the four siblings the Kings and Queens of Narnia. He disappears once again, back over the sea.
Prince Caspian: (third book, made into a movie):
Narnia has been over-thrown by outsiders! The children do what they can, all but Lucy refuse to wait for Aslan. It is not until the very end, when all seems lost, that Aslan appears. First waking the trees to help the Narnians, Aslan destroys the army and establishes Caspian as the ruler of Narnia. He opens a portal, so that any human who does not wish to reside with the Narnians may go to the human world.
Characters Likes: Narnia, Good, The Kings
Character's Dislikes: Evil, Jadis, When others are in trouble.
Roleplay
Task: A great lion walked with majesty through the Animal Kingdom park, next to the symbolic tree. He had appeared here, one shake of a mane was all it took. What a strange world, a lot like the Pevinses world. Actually, it was exactly like it; only in the future. The great king of Narnia, Aslan, now jumped up to the top of the tree. He looked across the park, his noble face taking it in.
It was called, Disney world. This was a place were sons of Adam came for adventures. Aslan had already seen many different kinds of people, but none like the Pevinses. But the great Lion knew something was wrong. He could sense evil in this merry place. Perhaps Jadis was around? The Lion growled at the thought. He would not let the evil witch take over another innocent world.
With a bounding leap, Aslan lept down from the tree to the side walk. The humans seemed afraid of him, walking away quickly. Most of them thought he was probably mechanical. Ignoring them for the most part, the king of Narnia made his way toward a sort of Safari-like attraction. If he wanted answers, he might as well start looking for them. Things rarely happened the same way twice, on any world.
