Elisa and Djali had stopped at the store to buy a first aid kit, so she was a little surprised when no one was at the camp by the time they arrived.
"I hope nothing happened to them." Elisa said.
Djali nudged Elisa, wanting attention. Elisa gave him an affectionate ear rub before setting to work on laying out the bandages. Elisa didn't doubt that Esmeralda had set the lioness' leg just fine, the burn ointment and bandages were for her. She knew Esmeralda wouldn't tend to herself until Kiara as alright, but when it came to things like this, Elisa would show her friend that she could be just as stubborn.
Esmeralda wouldn't be doing anything but sitting quietly until her own wounds had healed. And if Elisa had her way, she and Kovu would get things settled once and for all.

Kovu looked back at Esmerelda when she appologized for her words. "I should appologize too," he said. "I shouldn't have ignored you like I did. You were right to be angry with me. Things are just complicated for me right now. I need some time to figure it out for myself. Can you give me that?" he asked, glancing down at Kiara.
His heart felt that it was being torn apart. It was like his mother was forcing him into her plans again, forcing him to do something that he hated. He cared about both Esmerelda and Kiara but to see them both together, well it was too bizarre to comprehend at the moment.
Mufasa and Gaston arrived and Esmerelda's bad temper came back again. She shrugged off Gaston's offer to help and Kovu looked up at the hunter with a appologetic expression. But his expression turned cold when Gaston tried to flurt with Esmerelda again. Perhaps he should just let they gypsy go with her own kind and he could return to his own pride.
Perhaps it would have been better if we had never met, he thought sadly. None of this would have happened.

Esmeralda looked over at Gaston, at the unconscious Kiara, and over at Kovu. She sighed when Gaston tried to flirt with her.
"Please excuse me for a moment," she said and passed him, walking over to Kovu again. She sat down on the ground, one arm around Kiara, and placed the other arm around Kovu, pulling him into a hug. She looked into his eyes with all the love she felt for him.
"I understand, Kovu. Take all the time you need. And then come back to me and tell me what you have decided. I love you way too much to let things end like this, with hurt and anger. None of us have deserved that. I have never regretted meeting you, Kovu. You are the light in my life. No matter what happens between us or what you decide to do, I will always remember you with love in my heart."
She lifted her hand and caressed his mane gently, smiling warmly to him.
"I do not wish to force you to anything, my love. I only want you to be happy, no matter what you decide to do. Your happiness is all I care about. I can't stand to see you suffer. I love you more than life itself."
She turned her head and looked warmly down at Kiara. Then she lowered her voice and spoke to Kovu again.
"The reason why I am refusing to let others carry Kiara, is that she is more injured than I first feared. Right now, I am pressing my Amulet of Life against her heart. I am afraid she will die if I release her. I need to stimulate her heart with my magic and my will power, until we are back in the camp. She has a high fever. But I will fight to keep her alive, and do my best to save her."

Gaston continued to smile when she went past him with the lioness in her arms. Even though he couldn't hear what Esmeralda was saying to Kovu, but he was happy when she hugged him. A little bit of time alone helped him let go of his anger toward the lion. Gaston seemed to say something to himself.
"That's the Esmeralda I know."
Gaston went from his smiling face back to being serious, it seemed as if he had to make his attentions clear.
"I am not here to make any trouble for you two. If there is anything that I can help you with just ask and I'll do it. I was hoping that I could calm down this situation a little with my usual flirting, but I can see now is not the time for that. It is important that we take of what that is important right now, if you can't let go of Kiara, I could easily carry both of you to the camp without any problems."

The voices around her seemed foggy and distant, she could barely make any of them out but when Mufasa spoke to her she clung to it like a lifeline, not sure if she was going to where the great Kings and Queens were in the sky or if it was real. Whatever was happening it hurt and she could feel her heart pounding in her ears, could almost hear the distant crashing of the water that had once had her in its clutches and she opened her eyes and then immediately closed them in a panic.
“NOOO!” Kiara cried struggling in Esmeralda’s arms. “It hurts!” Her leg felt like it was burning, her fever was boiling and she was confused about what was going on, where she was or how she got there.

Kovu was greatful that Esmerelda understood. She was so sweet like that, always looking out for others above herself. He listened to her warning about Kiara's condition and became afraid.
"Do whatever you can to save her, please," he asked her softly, a panic in his eyes.
Kiara was in pain again and Kovu helped Esmerelda as much as he could. He nuzzled his face against the lioness's neck in an effort to sooth her, hoping that Esmerelda's magic would work.

Esmeralda smiled warmly and looked over at Kovu again.
"You know I will do anything in my power to save her," she said warmly. "It would be a shame to let a beautiful and noble lioness as her die, wouldn't it? And I know how much you love her. It will break your heart to see her die. And I don't want to see you in pain. You have suffered enough. If I can do anything to ease your pain, I will."
She caressed the lioness gently, holding her in her arms, pressing the magic amulet against the lioness chest, near her heart. She was singing soft magical words in her ears as she rocked her gently, like a mother lulling her baby to sleep.
"Don't worry, Kiara. Everything will be fine. I promise you..."
She looked over at Kovu and Gaston.
"We need to find a way down now. As soon as possible. It will take some time to heat the water I need for the herbs I will use for her medicine."

Kiara was still struggling a little as Kovu nuzzled against her neck and she settled just a bit, the pain still aching in her leg from the break and she groaned a little. She heard the soft words that were being sung to her and she listened to them carefully, fully relaxing now.
(OOC: Sorry its so short guys, I'll have her wake up when she's back at the camp)

Elisa paced by the campfire she had set up. The sun had set almost a hour ago, and she hadn't seen Esme, Kiara, or Kovu yet. What could have happened to them?
Djali bleated beside her, worried for his mistress. It had been a long while since he had been separated from her for so long.
If they didn't show up within the next five minutes, Elisa was going to start looking for them.
