Alfredo could not help but give an amused sort of chuckle, grinning at her amazement and play with the word. It was kind of... was adorable the word? She was such a mesmerizing and strong. She came on strong, for sure. Esme was really lovely. But he didn't think he'd want to use the word cute. But he was thinking it for just this moment. Because the way her tongue plumped at the end of the word to make it sound like a whole other word entirely, the opportunity to teach someone else what something was. Her innocent. Yeah. Yeah, it was cute. "Ehheh. Yeah, Soccer. It's a sport." hoping that definition would help, as simple as it was.
Esmeralda mentioned something and wondered about a yard away leaving a slightly confused Linguini. he stayed in place and tilted up his head as he tried to look on to what she was doing. With her was a tiny creature. Linguini had never owned a pet in his life. But before coming here he'd befriended an animal, and that was probably the first time he ever got along with one. He'd been scratched by a cat pretty badly when he was younger. And dogs seemed to give him a growl when walking by him every now and again. But there were plenty of happy friendly sort of animals here. They were all very nice and sociable. Maybe this grey furry one was just the same. And then when he was able to see at the right angle he realized he knew this animal. It was the very one that he'd been reminded of the moment Esmeralda mentioned a mouse. He would have never imagined it'd be Remy.
"Oh! Heh-" his fingers lingering in front of his lips as he contained his enthusiasm. He came a few steps closer quickly to make sure his eyes weren't playing a very cruel trick on him. Nope, there he was. "Hey!! Litt-" He spoke! Holy cow! And then again English audible words spilled from his tiny mouth. He jumped ship from the gypsy to Fred and nuzzled up against him. Alfred grinned and brought his right hand up to cup against Remy's back, closing his eyes. This place was full of surprises. "It's uh- heh good to see you too."

Esmeralda tilted her head and looked innocently up at Linguini when he explained that football was a sport.
"Sport - like a tournament? Riding on horses with lances in their hands? Or more like fencing? I know my way around a sword, you should have seen how I fenced off Frollo's soldiers when they came to arrest my people!"
She looked innocently into Alfredo's eyes.
"Can you teach me how to play football?"
When the tiny rat embraced Linguini, she smiled warmly, her emerald eyes were glittering.
"Awwwwwww - that is so cute! Is he a friend of yours?"

"Oui" smiled Remy, still sitting on Linguini's shoulder. He liked sitting there, it was warm and cosy. He really enjoyed this, being with Esmeralda and Linguini, two people he liked. He hadn't met Esmeralda before, but she seemed nice and smelled like summer. Sniffing out in the air, Remy noticed that they were about to cook something. "What are you making, by the way?" He was so hungry, and hoped he could join them.

Esmeralda chuckled with laughter.
"I am making something I loved to make in my old country, though the recipe is from a neighbor country of mine: Italy. I am making Lasagna with tomato sauce, Bechamél sauce and Mozzarella cheese. Are you familiar with Lasagna?"
She smiled.
"That is only the main course. For soup, I will make a French chicken soup, and for dessert I am making a speciality from France. But I will keep that a secret for now. Do you cook, Remy?"

"Yes, I cook, and I'm familiar with both Italian and French cuisine. I am actually a chef." With his highly developed sense of smell, even for a rat, he learned early how to cook his own food instead of eating garbage like the rest of his pack.
His great hero was chef Gusteau, and he used to be with him, in his imagination, but now he seemed to have gone. Weird, he thought. It happened after he had gone to Disney World. But he was glad he wasn't there anymore, it seemed to scare the others in the bistro he worked in when he talked to himself like that.
"For dessert, I would warmly recommend chocolate truffle cake! It is moist and delicious, if you make it right. But I'm looking forward to see what you will make." He wouldn't seem too proud and full of himself, he had just made a new friend, and wanted to impress her.

Esmeralda smiled, knowing rats were just as intelligent as humans, and in certain cases more. She looked over at Remy, listening to his words, and an idea popped up in her mind.
"You are a cook too? Well, I have an idea? Why don't you join Fred and me, and we can all cook for each other, and share all the dishes we prepare? That way, we can share experiences with food, and learn about new flavors."
She smiled to Remy.
"That chocolate truffle cake sounds delicious. I would love to learn how to make one. I look forward to serve you the dessert I am going to prepare."

Remy liked the idea, but he'd rather they would do it together, that would be more cosy. "It's a good idea, but I'd rather we cook together." He hoped she wouldn't mind, he didn't want to insult the girl.
Remy clasped his paws together and looked forward to cook. He hoped they had enough ingredients there to make what he was thinking about.

Esmeralda chuckled with laughter. She loved the idea of cooking together with someone. Usually when she was cooking she was left all by herself in the kitchen. But company always made cooking much more fun.
"That is a great idea. I am about to start on the chicken soup. What do you want to do? Oh, and I am always up for ideas, if you got any."
She looked over the kitchen. She had already found the ingredients necessary.

Remy shrugged. "I can make the tomato sauce. I have my own recipe for that. You have thyme, basil and oregano, don't you?" The spices in the tomato sauce were the most important ingredients. If you don't have that, you can just forget about making the sauce.
"Oh, and for the chicken soup, I would recommend apple sausage and apple cider! They help to flavor the chicken."
