"That's great!" Remy tried to smile, but he was a little startled after the tiger had ran into the restaurant and attacked him and Gadget... But the girl seemed to have more or less control of the tiger, so he calmed down a little. "Just take her order, and we will be in the kitchen. Come with me, err, what was your name again?" he turned to the mouse who just came into the kitchen, he wasn't sure if he catched her name.

“Oh, I’m so very sorry he startled you, Miss.”
Jasmine bit her lip, staring at the three mice, before turning at the mess Rajah made. The young Arab hoist herself up, as her face showed fatigue and at the same time it was filled with embarrassment and at the same time sympathy for the three mice. That must have scared them out of their wits, especially the female one. Her eyes gazed at her for a moment. The words that the mouse had uttered remain fresh on her mind. Oh, she’d done it now, she’s caused yet another mess, and this time, no Aladdin would be there to help her clean it up. She just had to stand on her own feet now eh? Its time she learnt to be a tad responsible.A new life. A new princess. That was what she wanted right? That was how she always wanted to be. She can’t be running off to adventures with a princess attitude at bay.
"Indeed! Madame, will you kindly keep that beast under control? Miss Gadget is most definitely not on the menu."
B-beast? How dare he-
Now, now Jasmine… Rajah did invade into their territory.
But, Rajah is no beast, he’s a kind animal!
Would a frightened mouse think that? Afterall, Rajah did scare them.
Rajah growled at the mouse, the bold one. Placing her hand on the tiger, she said to the mouse, whatever his name was.
“I’m sorry Mr. Mou- Sir, its just, he’s hungry. I assure you he won’t do the same again.”
Turning her head to Rajah, she crooned.
“You wouldn’t eat these nice p-mice right Rajah? There’s a good boy now.”
Her eyes gazed at the tiger, how she loved her pet so, but he’s been acting so weirdly since they got here. It reminded her of the time where Jafar ruled Agrabah. It wouldn’t make sense though. Hadn’t Aladdin taken care of that? Oh and once more, she had been a ‘fat load of help’.
How useless can I get?
"Just take her order, and we will be in the kitchen. Come with me, err, what was your name again?"
“If only there’s something I could do to repay back your kindness after the trouble we’ve caused you. I’m really sorry.”
Stop mumbling apologies Jasmine, least you could do, is pick up the tables and chairs Rajah scattered.
That’s right. It had became a habit for her mind to be nagging her. Sometimes, she thinks that her mind had a life of its own. She started to pick up the chairs and tables, setting it right, knowing it was the least she could do.

"Right, then," said the detective as Remy and Gadget headed for the kitchen once more.
Keeping one eye on the tiger at all times, Basil waited until the girl righted the tables and chairs before wheeling over a serving cart. It was the only way he could get a glass of water to her, a glass that was much bigger than he was.
"My name is Basil, and I will be your host tonight. Your menu, madam." His manners were impeccable, though his tome was a bit cold. Basil had suffered a great deal of trouble of late from people with dangerous pets.
"I think it only fair to inform you that we are a trifle short-handed today. The chef is preparing his specialty, ratatouille, which I highly reccommend."

"It's Gadget," she replied, shaking his hand again. "Oh, I already did that, didn't I?"
"That was a close call, wasn't it?" she prattled on.
"Is the restaurant business always this dangerous?"

The little restaurant sure didn't look like a place Panchito would choose to eat in. He couldn't even read the sign, but the picture of the rat made him pause. He hoped that wasn't some kind of menu.
Still, the vacquero had seen a very pretty girl walk in. Maybe she was alone. Maybe she didn't want to stay that way.
In he sauntered, right up to the lovely lady. "Perdón, senorita, but I hate to eat alone. Do you want some compay also?"

"Nice to meet you, Gadget! But where did the girl go?" he noticed that the girl had gone, but in came a new guest. Great! But he hoped they wouldn't get too crowded, he was after all the only cook in the restaurant, and he couldn't make food to more than one human at a time. But he was glad to have guests. But then he noticed the bird who came when he had picnic at Mad Hatter Tea Party. He came, made himself a sandwich, and left. Weird. But who was Remy to not like eccentric personalities?
"Is the restaurant business always this dangerous?"
Remy chuckled with laughter. "No, no, no! Don't be afraid! It used to be, but this place is just as dangerous as a kindergarten to a human child." He walked with her into the kitchen and took her up to the counter, where he continued cutting the vegetables and putting them into a fireproof shape. The oven was on, so the only thing he had to do now was to put the shape into it. He had a lift to do that as well.
He put the shape on a board, which was in the lift. Then he pulled on a rope that was tied to the handle, opened the oven, turned the crank, and the ratatouille was ready and in the oven. He then jumped down on the floor and kicked the oven door in.
Ooops, he had totally forgotten about Gadget! "Sorry, I get so enthusiastic when I cook, I had forgotten about you! But we still have the gravy to prepare, so I hope you will help me with it. Please come with me to the pantry, and we'll find more tomatoes."

Just then another patron came in. Basil rolled his eyes at the sight of Panchito. Wherever that bird went, gunshots seemed to follow.
"My name is Basil, and I will be your host tonight. Your menu, sir." Was the detective going to have to do this all night long?
"I think it only fair to inform you that we are a trifle short-handed today. The chef is preparing his specialty, ratatouille, which I highly reccommend." Yadda, yadda, yadda. He had that speech down by rote.

"Oh, that's okay," she smiled sincerely. "It's pretty interesting just watching you work. You're obviously an expert."
He cooked the way she built stuff: you could see the passion in him.
"I don't know if I'll be much help to you, but I'll try. What should I do first?"

"Great! Then if you could come with me to the pantry and help me find an onion, butter, olive oil, tomatoes, parsley, a garlic, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper and white wine?" He went through the list in his head, he had made tomato sauce so many times before. It usually went with pasta, but it was also good with ratatouille.
Climbing up to the cupboard, he opened it to find a frying pan and a little kettle to make the sauce. Then he carefully pushed the kettle and the frying pan out of the cupboard and they both landed at the counter with a huge "bang!" for both of them.
Then he followed Gadget down to the floor with the lift, and into the pantry. To make it more simple for Gadget, Remy made a little list of what they needed and layed it on the floor for Gadget to look at:
"6 tomatoes, 50 grams of butter, 1/4 cup olive oil 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 cup finely diced onion 2 teaspoons minced garlic 1 tablespoon finely chopped oregano leaves 1 tablespoon finely chopped thyme leaves 1 cup white wine"
It wasn't easy for him to write with a huge human pen, but he managed after many practises. He did it standing on his hindlegs with the pen in his paws.
He took one tomato after another, rolling them on the floor (he would clean them afterwords anyway) and lifting them up into the basket. Then he took a garlic, rolling it on the floor and put it in the basket. With the first ingredients he lifted them to the counter and put them all into the sink. He went down again and helped Gadget with the rest of the ingredients.

"Compadre," said Panchito with a puzzled grin, "I already know your name."
Seeing the mouse in the restaurant made the rooster hesitate; maybe they did cook rats in here. Panchito always thought you could eat anything if it had enough hot sauce on it. But...rats?
"Umm...I think maybe I do no want the rata...whatever it was. Do you have any chile rellenos?" he asked hopefully.

"One moment, I shall inquire of the chef."
Basil stepped into the kitchen, allowed the door to swing closed behind him, ans stood for a few seconds examining his fingernails. When sufficient time had passed, he returned to the dining room.
"I am so very sorry, but we are all out."
