Gadget stood on the sidewalk under a huge umbrella. Well, it was huge to her. To a human, it would be pretty tiny.
Anyway, she stood on the sidewalk under her umbrella, looking through the downpour of rain.
"I guess it has to rain sometime, even in the Sunshine State."
The little mouse wondered what she ought to do on such a rainy day. Something indoors, maybe. She didn't notice how deep the water in the street was getting. It was almost up over the edge of the sidewalk already.

The rain poured down heavily, making Quasi resemble a drowned rat. Though the intensity of the rain normally would make him seek shelter, shivering from cold as he was, though not today.
The cold, wet weather matched his depressive mood perfectly; the coldness only underlined the coldness he was already feeling inside.
He paused his walk to look up at the sky, the grey clouds seemed to have no end. His common sense told him if he didn`t get inside soon he would be catching a cold. he puffed, what did it matter?
Who would look for him even if he melted into the water, letting it claim him as its own, like he felt he would. All of those he`d considered his closest friends had disappeared lately, leaving him as lost as ever. in his desperate search for their whereabouts, he`d come across rumors that they`d left the park.
Left him? he couldn`t help but wonder, if that was the case he couldn`t blame them.
with a deep sigh, the depressed bellringer continued his aimless wander, not knowing where he might end up; his wet shoes making squishing sounds on the way.
However, his stroll came to a sudden halt as he realized he nearly stepped on a tiny umbrella.
Sorry, he muttered regretfully to whomever was under the umbrella, apologizing for almost making a pancake of the fellow.
( Sorry if this sounds way too depressive *slaps self* oh well), Maybe gadget can manage to cheer him up?)

Ronno quickly became aware of the pouring rain and decided to seek for the best shelter he could find. His top layer of dark brown fur was beginning to get drenched already.
He didn't realize that the rain would come down so fast that the levels in the water on the ground were rising just a tiny bit, almost becoming like puddles. The moment he soon noticed this, it provoked him the idea of possibly splashing someone on purpose, much like he would splash a forest animal all over by stomping his hooves in a pond. While quickly dashing through the guest paths, he noticed two characters who appeared very ideal for him to play a trick on.
Acting as though he were not aware of Quasimodo's nor Gadget's presence, he quickly went past them and stomped his hooves into the water, hoping that his trick worked. Stopping a few feet away from where he splashed them, he turned to them to sarcastically say, "Oops."

<<Thank you both for joining :) I was feeling a bit depressed, too, but having posts to reply to certainly lifted my spirits!>>
There weren't many people around, and the few who passed by were in a hurry to get under cover. But there was one human who walked slowly, with no umbrella or rain poncho, as if he didn't care how wet he got.
As Gadget stood undecided, the man came up on her blind side and almost squished her.
As she jumped back and he apologized, Gadget recognized him; it was Quasimodo. She remembered him as a nice guy, quiet and gentle, and kind of shy.
"Oh, hey, Quasi. It's Gadget, remember? Don't you have an umbrella or anything? You could get sick."
It wasn't easy to see through the pouring rain, but anyone could see that the hunchback was depressed.
"Is anything wrong? You look sad. Can I help--"
Before she could finish, a wave of water so overpowering that it could be felt through the downpour engulfed both mouse and man. The force of the splash washed Gadget off her feet and into the gutter.
"Hey," she spluttered, coughing the water out of her lungs, "what gives?"
It was a fawn who had splashed them. He stood there now, looking not at all sorry.

Ronno stood there to see the reactions coming from Quasimodo's and Gadget's faces the moment they realized they were tricked. It was then that he presumed to laugh away. "Aw, you should have seen the looks on your faces when you two got wet! Now you're wetter than ever!"
Doing a trick like this was something he had not done in a long time, so it brought a sense of relief to him. It was as if the trick was a satisfying pleasure for him.

Gadget gripped the edge of the sidewalk, as the water rushing into the storm drain threatened to wash her away. She'd dropped her umbrella and it was floating downstream.
"Well, I don't think that was funny. Are you okay, Quasi?"

Quasi smiled weakly as he recognized gadget under the tiny umbrella. I`m all right, he smiled weakly as he bent down to see her, glad to see at least one familiar face.
It`s been a long time, he spoke softly, shoving his own depression to the back of his mind. Though before he got to say anything more, he felt the ice cold sensation of a wave of water hitting him.
He`d thought he couldn`t get anymore wet than he already was. Boy he was wrong.
He turned to see the little fawn beside them, cramping from laughter. At first, Quasi sent the mischievous animal that look. However, as he came to think of the deer`s apparently young age, he proceeded a weak smile, shivering from the cold. hi, do i know you? he questioned gently .
Then, as he became aware of Gadget`s situation, he reached down a hand to pick her up from the water. Sure he managed to smile reassuringly. Are you..? he asked softly, concern present in his eyes.

<<Sorry, Quasi, I didn't forget you. I was waiting for Ronno to post>>
Gadget was grateful to be pulled from harm's way. She thought she was about to get a tour of the Disney sewers.
"I'm okay. Just a little...drenched."
"But you look like something's bothering you. Besides the weather, I mean."
Even when he had his own troubles, Quasimodo didn't forget to help others in need. Gadget smiled to herself as she thought about what a sweetheart he was.

Ronno looked at Quasimodo, who was speaking to him and wanting to know who he was, and faced him, stating in his braggish tone, "Why, no, we haven't. Name's Ronno, and say hello to my boys Stab and Jab." To demonstrate how tough he appeared to be, he went over to the nearest lamppost and hit his antler stubs against it, hoping to cause a small dent or two in it.
"Sheesh, I'm soaked," he remarked, walking up to them both and shaking off some of the excess water on his fur. "Where's the nearest shelter?"

Huh! First he plays a mean trick on them, then he acts like he wants to be friends. Lucky for Ronno, Gadget wasn't a mouse to hold a grudge.
"There's gotta be a restaurant or gift shop around here that we could duck into. Until the rain stops, that is."

Quasi offered a small smile, glad Gadget seemed to be all right. I`m gonna be fine, he assured, as she asked about his troubles, unwilling to shove his worries over on her. I`m just a bit wet, he said, making the understatement of history.
Nice to meet you Ronno, he spoke a bit uncertain, turning to the fawn with the though attitude. Nice..horns..
At the subject of shelter he pondered a second, having a undeniable suspicion he was near to catch a cold himself.
If you don`t think it too far we could always seek shelter in Notre Dame..? he offered questioning.

"Too far? Can you even get there from here?" Gadget had seen a lot of things in the park, but she hadn't seen Notre Dame cathedral.
The little mouse gave a half-shrug that ended in a shiver. "Sure, I'd love to see it. If you know the way."
Not wanting to be mean, she added, "You can come, too, Ronno. If you want to. To get out of the rain, I mean."

Rain. It always reminded him of his near death experience. He felt as if a large portion of his life was missing for some reason and was lost of thought until he spotted a group. A female mouse, a young buck, and Quasimodo, a quiet man, somewhat shy but not a bad guy to talk to.
"Well this park is very large, seeing this place isn't very easy. Hey there Quasi, if your looking for shelter it would be better if we went together. Even if it is raining I hope you are in good spirits."
After most of the things that happened Gaston thought of Quasimodo, like a little brother. The fact is they were more alike then most could see, starting opposites and coming to the same conclusions. To put it shortly, Gaston was a devious monster that looked like a prince, Quasi was judged as a monster but acted like a prince.

A man approached the little group. A big, muscle man who obviously knew Quasimodo from somewhere.
"Hi there. My name's Gadget. We were thinking of heading for Notre Dame to get out of the rain."
But Quasi wasn't in good spirits; Gadget had noticed that right off, though she didn't know if it was because of the gloomy weather or something else. Maybe the hunchback's friend would be able to cheer him up a little.

The moment Ronno took notice of Gaston, a sense of intimidation came to him from the inside, most notably due to Gaston's strong figure and striking facial features. This wasn't to say that Ronno felt frightened in seeing Gaston approach, however. In fact, he wondered if Gaston was the type of person who would go out hunting, but that wasn't something to be concerned about at the moment.
"Anything to get out of this drench fest," Ronno said to Gadget. The shaking off of the excess rain from the fur only helped a little bit, as he soon started to shiver at the legs and sneeze a couple times. This would likely be the start of a miserable day for him if he began to catch a cold.
