Ratigan approached the large mansion, pulling out the invitation he had received.
My dear Sir,
It is with great respect I write you this invitation to join me for tea at my mansion. I have long admired your work, and I believe that if you and I were to work together, we could do wonders.
I eagerly await your response.
Regards, Lady Tremaine
Ratigan checked the address listed at the bottom of the note, and saw he was at the right place. He walked up to the front door, knocking at the elaborate wood carving.
The door opened, and a butler gazed down at him.
"Ah, Professor Ratigan." Edgar greeted, ushering him in. "Lady Tremaine has been expecting you. May I take your hat?"
Ratigan took his hat off and handed it to Edgar.
"If you'll follow me, sir." Edgar said, leading the way down the halls.
They came to a door. Edgar knocked, and a female's voice called out for them to enter.
"Announcing the arrival of Professor Ratigan." Edgar said, giving an elaborate bow as Ratigan entered the room.
Approaching Lady Tremaine, Ratigan gave a bow, taking Lady Tremaine's hand and kissing it.
"It is an honor to be welcome into your fine home, my Lady." Ratigan said.

Lady Tremaine stood up when Ratigan entered, offering her hand in a greeting.
"Ah, Lord Ratigan. I am greatly honored to have you here as my guest. I suppose you have heard that my brother Frollo is... indisposed at the moment? However, I am disposing his army right now, so I am thinking of doing something about the gypsy problem we have in this park. There seem to be gypsies everywhere. And the worst of them all, is the gypsy king, Clopin Trouillefou, and his daughter, the gypsy Esmeralda."
She smiled and offered him a seat.
"I am certain you would like to hear more about this over a cup of tea? And maybe something to eat?"

Ratigan graciously accepted Lady Tremaine's offer for tea and food. Edgar left them to retrieve the tea trays, and Ratigan took his seat, listening to Lady Tremaine speak of the gypsies.
A genocide seemed rather barbaric for someone like Ratigan, but the way he saw it, if he assisted Lady Tremaine, she would help him with his own schemes. Ratigan smiled.
"My dear Lady Tremaine, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship." Ratigan said. "Myself and my minions are at your service, in whatever way possible.
"Now if I may, I would request your help with a matter of great annoyance in my own life. Basil of Baker Street has fouled up my most grandest schemes. I loathe that mouse, and I will not rest until I have rid myself of him once and for all. However, he manages to escape trap after trap, no matter how much thought I have put into them.
"If you and I join forces against him as well, surely we can come up with a scheme that not even the Great Mouse Detective will overcome."

Lady Tremaine smiled her ice cold smile as she sipped her cup of tea. She listened calmly to Ratigan's words, knowing they could be useful to one another.
"My dear Lord Ratigan, I couldn't agree more. I thank you for your kind offer to help me in my plans. If you need my help in return, or that of my brother Frollo's soldiers, we are at your service as well."
She smiled when she heard of the annoying mouse, Basil of Baker Street. It wasn't long ago she had found her darling cat Lucifer with a thorn in his paw, and she was certain that the English mouse had something to do with it.
"I will love to help you in your attempts to get rid of Basil, because I am his enemy too. I happen to know that he had a crush on the gypsy Esmeralda, but she broke his heart by choosing the lion Kovu over him."
A cruel smile went over her thin lips.
"Now, if something happened to this gypsy, we could both get revenge over our enemies. You could get revenge over Basil, and I over the pesky lion Kovu."

Ratigan munched on a slice of cheese while listening to Lady Tremaine speak of Esmeralda.
"A love triangle you say?" Ratigan mused. "Oh, hearts are so easily breakable, aren't they?"
Edgar returned more tea, and a large cat followed him in.
"Pardon me, Madame, but I'm afraid this feline will not leave the premises." Edgar said.
Ratigan turned in his chair to have a look.
"Felicia!" Ratigan cooed as he hopped down to dote on his spoiled cat. "Oh my baby, where have you been? Was that butler mean to Daddy's little muffin? Oh tsk tsk tsk."
Edgar stiffened. "I assure you sir, I did nothing of the sort."

Lady Tremaine smiled, an ice cold smile, devoid of any feelings. Frost were in each word she spoke. She had never allowed her emotions to come in her way for her schemes.
"Too easy, if you ask me. And this Kovu also have a love triangle. My informants have told me he is emotionally involved with a lioness named Kiara. Taking away Esmeralda could help him get rid of a problem, maybe even.... permanent... if you catch my drift....."
She laughed so cruelly that even Edgar shuddered and looked away from her. He had done a lot of evil things in his days, but even he thought this was cruel.
When the large cat followed Edgar, Lady Tremaine smiled. She had always liked cats. Lucifer, who was asleep on the couch beside her, woke up and looked over at the other cat. His yellow demonic eyes suddenly got something green in them, and he jumped softly down on the floor, and started circling the other cat, puffing his chest and trying to look impressive.

As Ratigan and Lady Tremaine continued to plot against their enemies, Lady Tremaine's cat, Lucifer, took notice of Felicia. The fat feline sat with her tail curled around her as the black cat strutted around the room.
Felicia smiled as she stood up, matching Lucifer's pace as the two circled around the room. Letting her bushy tail slide under Lucifer's nose, Felicia snickered as Lucifer nearly fell over.
Walking towards the door, Felicia glanced over her shoulder, casting an inviting look towards the handsome black cat.

Lady Tremaine watched the cats as they got to know each other better, and she smiled her ice cold little smile and looked over at Ratigan.
"Well, it seems our cats are getting along. I had never thought I would see Lucifer like that."
Lucifer strutted around the beautiful feline that sat there with her beautiful tail curled around her. His eyes grew wide with surprise when she let her bushy tail slide under his nose. The fine, long hairs of her fur tickled his nose, and he let out a powerful sneeze, that sent him slamming into the corner table, which tipped over. This caused a vase of flowers standing on the table to land in his head. His fur was soaked from the water in the vase, and flowers were spread all over him.
After a few moments with a very foolish face expression on his face, he came to himself again, shaking his head in confusion, before sending her a sheepish smile. When she walked towards the door, sending him an inviting look, his demonic yellow eyes got heartshaped, and he bounced after her towards the door.
