James heaved a quiet sigh of relief. He could live with Captain Teague holding rotten civilians as hostages, especially since he was being gracious to give twenty-four hours of time for the Governor to come to a financial agreement. Although James couldn't help but want to protect the innocent souls and defend the remaining honor he had, he mostly understood and agreed with what Teague was saying. For most of his life, James had harbored an intense, zero-tolerance hatred for piracy but it was because of Teague and all the great things he stood for that his eyes were opened.
"Thank you, Teague. I must admit I'm anticipating your revenge against Lord Beckett. Hell, maybe I'll join in myself" he joked, chuckling softly. Then Captain Teague changed the subject and asked about Elizabeth. James's smile faded away until it became a grim line. His eyes glazed with sorrow and he looked away from the pirate.
"...She did not want me. She desired Will and stood by him, and so I let her do as she wanted. I only want her to be happy" he explained nobly, trying to hide the sadness in his voice.

Captain Will Turner looked and noticed Barbossa. ''Captain Barbossa'' He said. He couldn't stop thinking about when he first became a pirate. He just really didn't know what was happened. He then finally zoom back in. He heard what Norrington had to said. ''Elizabeth never wanted you'' He said. He didn't care what norrington was saying. He looked at Captain Teague and Barbossa. He wonder was this his fight.
He couldn't stop thinking about Davy Jones. Davy Jones had made his father days on his ship bad. He just really didn't know what to do. He just stood there. He really needed to find Jones yet he wanted to be there for Captain Teague. He just stood there thinking.

Barbossa listened to Teague's plan and was mildly satisfied. He, again, was not inclined to have much sympathy or mercy for anyone involved with the hangings of those men. But he did realize that Elizabeth was marrying Jack, and the Keeper of the Code wasn't going to cause the wife of his son harm unless absolutely necessary. He had to respect that.
He glared at Norrington. "Well how noble a' ye, James. " The hint of amusement flooded through his voice. "It is a shame that ye let th' lass go just fer her t' marry th' likes of Jack Sparrow." His smile was smug. "Best be rethinkin' about what bein' noble has gotten ye...commadore." He said the last word with a tinge of mysterious mockery, letting it linger in the air before turning to the captain.
"My men are out fer Beckett's head as we speak. Ye plan seems convincin', t' be sure. But best be believin, if th' governer an' Beckett is nay inclined t' be cooperatin', I'd like t' settle th' conflict myself."
He caught site of Will Turner and grinned. "Young Turner," He said and saw the look of bemusement on his face. Barbossa knew that Will was a smart lad for a man so young and every time he looked at him, he was reminded of his father, Bootstrap Bill Turner. Barbossa's eyes followed a screaming woman running away from the chaos before returning back to Will. "What be runnin' through ye head, boy?"

Captain Teague Sparrow watched the two men for a moment, slighty amused by how they both had fallen for the same woman. And now she had proven that she didn't want either of them. She was married to his son Jack, and they had a daughter. Lillian. The thought of his grandchild made him smile. If it was up to him, she would become the greatest pirate ever - and no governor would send her to the gallows in an age of 15.
He heard a scream from somewhere in the house - or rather the remains of the house. He knew what it was. Someone had found the governor, and now they were chaining him, like he had chained the pirates, before they led him to Captain Teague Sparrow, placing him on his knees in front of the Keeper of The Code.
"Well well well, if 'tisn`t governor Swann. `Tis been a while, haven`t 't?"
Governor Swann tried to get up, but was kept down on his knees by the pirates. Teague continued to speak calmly to him.
"Jus' take 't easy, Swann, I be nay goin' t' hurt ye - yet. But if ye dasn't listen t' what I be havin' t' say, ye will neresee yer lass Elizabeth again. Do I make myself clear?"
He turned to Barbossa.
"Captain Barbossa, as a swabbie Captain, please tell this man what crimes he be accused o'. I accept yer offer o' cooperation."
((Since we don't have a governor Swann, please feel free to godmod this npc character ^^ ))

"Iye," Barbossa said to Captain Teague. He approached the governor, his tall menacing stature looming over him. "Governer Swann," He said with a smug smirk. "It has been some time since I've seen ye last. Though the circumstances are more in my favor at th' moment, ya see,"
"W-what do you want? I have nothing of yours. Y-you've destroyed everything." The governer stammered, looking up in panic.
Barbossa bent over and grabbed the governer by his collar, liftening him up a bit. "Arr, but ye do. Ye killed several of our men, governer. You along with Becket have spilled th' blood of a young boy. 15 years, he was."
"B-b-but I--"
Barbossa shook him and raised his voice a notch to talk over him. "Ye should know better," He dropped his voice down again, his voice whispery and mysterious. "...governor, than to kill w'tout expectin' t' meet th' consequences of yer actions. Would ye like t' take a stab at what that consequence might be?"
The governor just gazed up at him, fearful.
"There be th' necks of yer people held captive by our men. But here be our terms. Ye provide th' loot t' compensate an' support th' families of th' men ye killed. 24 hours ye got. In 24 hours if ye keep t' ye honor, we'll set the men free. But if ye fail t' be agreeable," He chuckled sadistically. "then ye best be prepared to have the weight of th' consequences on yer shoulders governer. Ye nay want t' be learnin' yer lesson th' hard way." He released him. "An' I'm certain our prisoners be rootin' fer th' easy lesson as well."
He gazed down at the governor waiting for an answer.

Elizabeth ran towards the destruction in rage. She'd heard what had happened but the who had done it made her madder. How could her father-in-law do this? What had caused him to be so heartless? Once she reached the mess, she gasped. She hadn't pictured it to be this bad. Upon catching sight of many familiar faces, she stormed towards them.
Taking a quick glance around, she took note of who was there but ignored them for the time being. Her flashing eyes were fixed on one person. "How could you?! Why would you?!"
She couldn't even look at her father as she knew once she did, she'd break down in relief that he was alright. Elizabeth needed her anger to urge her on. She just had to know why Captain Teague would do this.

James rolled his eyes at Will Turner, beyond annoyed by his ridiculous attempt to sound self-righteous. "She doesn't exactly swoon for you either, Turner" he snapped. He then turned his back on him and listened as Barbossa spoke to him. What Barbossa had said was...correct, unfortunately, and it was because of this that it stung him so. Why had he let her slip from his fingers so easily? Sure, he had proposed and he had tried but he didn't have to give up so soon. But...Elizabeth...he would never have forgiven himself if he forced her into marrying him.
He shook his head slightly, dismissing all thoughts of doubt in his mind. No, what he did was right. Whichever man she wanted to be with was her choice, not his, no matter how much he loves her. The scream of the Governor interrupted his thoughts, his eyebrows furrowing as he saw the pirates holding him down roughly.
"Oh, is that really so necessary?" he asked desperately, but fell into a silence as he was again interrupted. Captain Teague and Barbossa were carrying out their bargain right before him. After Barbossa had laid out the exact plan, James decided to intervene.
"Governor, please do as they ask" he said simply.
Governor Swann looked up at James in disbelief, mouth quivering slightly. "James? How could you?" he fumbled, eyes widening.
Suddenly, James heard the shrieking voice of none other than Elizabeth Swann. He whipped around to face her, feeling relieved but upset to see her at the same time. "Elizabeth! I'm so glad you're all right" he cried, a small grateful smile crossing his emotionless face.
"Elizabeth!" Governor Swann said, offering her a weak smile as well. This reminded James of the current situation, and he momentarily turned away from Elizabeth.
He looked the startled Governor in the eye to indicate he was serious. "Governor Swann, understand that if you fail to provide the financial coverage for these families your life will be the price to pay. This isn't my doing, but honestly, I think you can spare these poor men some coins" he explained wearily.
After a moment's hesitation, the Governor looked that he was about to give in to the demands. "...All right. How much is required?" he said feebly, reluctantly.

Elizabeth glanced at James Norrington quickly to see a small smile there. However as much as she wanted to, she couldn't return it. Then she heard her father's voice and her expression changed for a moment to a saddened one. But she still refused to look at him.
She whipped her head back to James when she heard his words. "What?! You are not helping them, are you?" Elizabeth looked at him with disgust and disbelief. "For a moment I respected you, James, how I regret that now."
Of course, she was just speaking out of anger and didn't mean what she saying but she didn't care at that moment. If James really was apart of this, she didn't know what she'd do. She just silently prayed that he wasn't. Again she turned to Teague with a demanding expression and waited for an explanation.

Captain Teague Sparrow was usually a patient man, but now he was furious. And crossing the Keeper of The Code when he was mad was never a smart thing to do. He turned to Elizabeth and replied, in a sharper voice than he ever had used to a woman.
"How could I? How would I? I could when I found that YER FATHER an' that wee spit-lickin' rat o' his, Becky, hanged a lot o' shipmates. Th' youngest shipmate be 15 voyages old! Yer father had th' power t' avast th' hangin', yet he did nothin'!"
Captain Teague's dark eyes were dark, flashing with a rage he could barely give words, and his strong voice was thundering over the place.
"How would I? I would when I noticed th' difference between rich an' poor in th' society. How th' rich men taxes th' poor t' get e'en richer, an' th' poor be havin' t' turn t' sweet trade t' survive! Now thar be a lot o' poor families ou' thar, without ere t' support them! Unless yer father agrees t' support these families financially. He has 24 hours t' get th' treasure - or th' hostages be hung - one by one - in th' same gallow 'ere th' shipmates be hung!"

Elizabeth cringed when Teague used a tone she'd never heard from him and honestly never wanted to hear again. However, his last sentence caused her to explode. It all sounded too bizarre and if she could help it, she'd make sure his plan didn't go through.
"Oh, so how is that different to what my father did? You're planning to hang people who did the right thing in a way, while pirates deserved it! You tell me how that is different!" Elizabeth crossed her arms, challenging him. She was not backing down.
She did sympathize for the fifteen year old who was hung, but Elizabeth didn't think this was the way to settle that.

Teague's face darkened when his daughter-in-law argued with him in front of his men. Well, he was not going to give in. He knew how sheltered she had been all her life. He wished he could take her to the homes of the pirate's family... show her the famished children, the poor housing they were forced to live in, the misery and pain.
Teague clenched his fists, his eyes black with hatred against a king who ruined his people with taxes so his court could live a life in luxury. This was the reason why he became a pirate. So he could protect the poor from being exploited by the rich and powerful.
"What would ye know, Miss Swann? Ye be nothin' but a spoiled brat, livin' a life in luxury, while others be havin' t' struggle t' survive! Wi' what right do ye judge th' buccanneers? Be havin' ye seen th' homes they come from? So poorly made that they canna keep th' snow an' rain ou'? Be havin' ye seen the'r starvin' children? Heard the'r coughs in the'r night, or the'r weak cries fer food when nay food be t' be found? Be havin' ye? Be havin' ye seen th' despair in th' parents one good eye, when the'r children sink t'Davy Jones' locker between the'r hands?"
He grabbed her around the shoulders and looked into her eyes.
"Be this th' destiny ye wish fer Lily? Open up yer scallywaggin' self-righeous one good eye an' BE SEEIN'! Wake up an' smell th' corruption!"

Barbossa watched as Norrington tried to reason with the governor and lucky for the governor, he seemed to comply. Suddenly Elizabeth Swann appeared in a rage. Barbossa looked on, silent anger building up, as Teague let Elizabeth know how he felt. Barbossa listened to his words, and when ever he thought about the young child who died, he was reminded of himself at that age. How he just entered the life of piracy. He remembered how much pain, heartache, and death was underneath the surface of the journey that led him to become a Pirate Lord.
"Be careful of how ye chose yer words, Miss Swann." Barbossa warned, his eyes dark. "Yer world is captained by pirates now, whether ye like it or not." He paused and approached her, his expression serious. "Ye efforts of nobility will not remove ye from th' world ye belong in, Miss Swann, nor will it be savin' ya no matter how much ye claim t' know what's right an' wrong. Ye be havin' another life in yer hands now. So I suggest ye reconsider yer priorities when ye speak, m'lady."

Elizabeth cringed again at the look in Teague's eyes and once again as he yelled. But it wasn't just his tone this time that got to her, it was his words. She stared at him in shock for a moment before she could recover. However, when she opened her mouth she found him holding her by the shoulders. Her expression was now fearful. This was not the Captain Teague Sparrow she knew. Then when her daughter was mentioned, she frowned and pulled out of his hold.
"How dare you bring her into this!" Elizabeth took a deep breath to try to calm herself a little before continuing, "No, as a matter of fact I have not seen them, but perhaps they're fathers and husbands should have thought about being a pirate in the first place? They should have known their consequences of their choice."
She turned her gaze to Barbossa and her face now held hatred she felt for him at this moment. He was the last person in the world she wanted to see right now. "Excuse me, Captain Barbossa, but I do not have the time or the patience for you." She was aware that Barbossa was pretty much saying the same thing as Teague, but this sort of thing from him she could handle. The fact that it was her own family doing this made it worse.

James's smile vanished immediately as Elizabeth began to accuse him, eyes flashing angrily at him. "No, not at all! I'm trying to save your father's life!" he defended honestly. It really was true. Although he felt guilt for the lives lost, especially the young boy of a mere fifteen years, there was no use in threatening someone who had been as powerless as he was. Lord Beckett could not be reasoned with, unless you were holding a gun at his head, and that was a sure fire way to get demoted. Now that was the least of his worries.
He couldn't help but feel the burn of her words, and his eyes widened slightly in horror as a reaction. No one, nor Teague or even Elizabeth respected him now. He was at a loss for words, and lovely, now Teague was intervening and making matters worse. James watched the two argue helplessly, still in a silenced state of shock. It was when he began to physically touch her did he step in again.
"Don't" he growled, jerking Captain Teague's arm back as a protective reflex. "You are not being fair" he began, but was interrupted by Barbossa's decision to be aggressive and completely unnecessary.
"This isn't your fight" he said simply, looking him in the eyes to indicate his seriousness. He promptly turned back to Elizabeth, who had managed to fend for herself regardless and was now backing away from Barbossa.
"All of you, please! I beg of you to stop! I said I'll pay it!" the Governor cried desperately.
James exhaled a heavy sigh. "Precisely. Everyone just calm down. It's only a toss of coins, we can afford to repay the lost families" he said finally, resting a hand gently on Elizabeth's shoulder, attempting to reassure her and comfort her.

Elizabeth looked back at James when he suddenly defended himself and his tone made her believe him, for the time being. Plus at this point since she had Teague and Barbossa against her, it'd be good to have someone on her side. Her expression then turned to surprise when he stepped in and defended her against Barbossa. She even flashed him a small smile in appreciation.
Elizabeth's attention was then taken back to her father who spoke up. Her anger returned. "No, father. You shouldn't have to be punished for doing the right thing!" Her tone held a hint of desperation at trying to get her point across. They shouldn't even be discussing this, it was so unfair.
Elizabeth waved away James's hand on her shoulder. "James, this isn't right and you know it!" Her eyes bore into his and they had taken on a pleading edge, sure James would see it. To her it wasn't just the money that was bothering her, it was the principle. She didn't care if her father only had to pay a cent, she wouldn't allow it to happen.
