A feminine and entrancing voice lilted over the lake suddenly, as though trying to coax the animals and dwellers out of their sleep to greet the day. It sounded again, causing a few birds to soar into the area, curious by the bewitching melody. At a first listen, it almost didn't sound human and instead one would place it in the category of belonging to some nymph or other sort of fairy creature that would wander through a meadow. This was until the fowl caught sight of her.
The maiden was implausibly beautiful; flaxen haired, lips that were as deep and sanguine as rubies, and her pale feet, although she was going around barefoot, were small built and dainty. She was careful to make her way towards the lake, avoiding any stones or suspicious looking holes in the grass and she smoothed out the skirt to her fuchsia shaded dress hastily before kneeling down. Aurora studied her flawless reflection for a moment, cocking her head indifferently although she was quite a gorgeous perception and then she directed her attention towards a water lily floating by.
The plant somehow reminded the princess of herself during that sunny juncture. It was so beautiful and delightful to gaze at but at the same time it was separated from the rest of the plants as it was gliding across the lake's shimmering surface. It seemed rather lonely.
Aurora stifled a giggle. She knew she must've been a bit too isolated if she was starting to sympathize with a flower. She began to hum vaguely and then lifted her a head a little to watch the clouds roll by for a while. True, the day was very ambrosial but it was a real shame she had to spend it all by herself.

At the moment when he made his appearance in the full light of day beneath the towering trees, enveloped in an aura of curiousity and innocence, he was so spellbound by the creature’s beauty that an innocent spectator would have thought that he was bewitched.
The crimson-cheeked inventor who poked his head from behind the tree near the woman, thought he’d die of shame. He was invading the privacy of a very beautiful young woman, a sinful deed indeed.
Then he felt the heat go to his neck, and a somewhat goofy smile flashed up to his lips. He, for the umpteenth time this week, adjusted his glasses. It was something he did constantly out of habit. He clasped his hands together, contemplative, taking his approach.
“Goo-good a-afternoon?” he stuttered, wanting nothing more than to slap himself in the face. The insecure adult buried his face into his hands, imagining hilarious scenarios of a frightened Aurora – he probably scared her off with his, as his son would say, lameness.
(May I join? :3)

(hellz yes <3)
Aurora's lavender eyes widened and she bit back a gasp as her head swiveled around so she could get a better look at the stranger. A small wave of relief washed over her radiant complexion gradually and she gave the unfamiliar man an amiable smile to let him know that she wasn't dangerous.
He seemed a little apprehensive and the young woman contemplated whether he was lost or not. Perhaps it was because of her, maybe he had only been sitting a few feet away and she hadn't seen him and he might've thought she was intruding. Nonetheless, she kept a sweet disposition, hoping he wasn't too shaken up by her arrival.
"Hello," the princess replied gently, trying to sedate his nervousness and she stood up, extending a petite hand. "I didn't know there was anybody else around. I-I hope I didn't distract you or anything, sir."
The fair haired maiden wasn't quite sure what was the matter with the man and it was almost as though his anxiety was contagious. She wasn't really that alarming, was she? Had he been spying on her? Dozens of thoughts continued to race through her head but she remained serene on the outside so she wouldn't rile him up more. She bit her lip for a moment, trying to remember her manners.
"My name is Aurora..." she continued in a cordial tone. "And what might I address you as, my good man?" From what she could tell, anxious vibes or not, he seemed fairly harmless.

The inventor did not hear her. "I’m very sorry," he went on, without removing his gaze from the ground. "I really should have been more careful, I mean, it wasn’t very polite of me to im - impose.”
The stunned inventor shook his head, with a disbelieving smile. In the midst of the man’s embarrassment, he rubbed the back of his neck which made his feelings obvious; he eyed her tiny hand for quite some time, and gently took it into his larger one.
He gave it a rather gentle shake, not realizing that it was considered impolite to shake the hand of a princess, but he sure wasn’t aware that she was royalty. He wore an awkward expression yet hinted his fascination with his wide blue eyes.
“I’m...I’m Cornelius. Cornelius Robinson.” He said, clearing his throat, adjusting his posture to fit the nonchalant air that seemed to adorn the young woman’s confidence. Oh, had he been a bold fellow, he would have complimented her the way she deserved.
He bit his lip when she dared to apologize for something he should have been apologizing to her for. “No, no, it wasn’t your fault. Honest.” He said, chuckling softly. “I was the one who intruded...I should have been more careful!”
He beamed. “Aurora? That’s a very pretty name.” he remarked, wanting, yet again, nothing more than to slap himself. He was a puddle!
(Awww.)

At first the golden haired nymph seemed a little taken aback when the stranger merely shook her hand but at the same time, his grip was quite temperate and warm. The sensation was pleasant and a far better alternative than the typical suitor who would shower her skin with moist, slippery kisses that made her want to dry heave. She was almost reluctant to let go for a brief moment and she dispersed her glittering eyes to meet his again. Silently, she admired the azure shade of his.
At first glance, Cornelius didn't seem like anything extraordinary. His hair was sticking out all other place and those droll looking glasses slid a little on the bridge of his nose. He also didn't have the best and most coordinated stance but the princess somehow found these imperfections rather beguiling. He was a sharp contrast to most of the supercilious men she was introduced to and she was gradually getting drawn in.
It was fairly evident that the man was unsure of himself but he gave off such sweet vibes and she didn't dare think of omitting him and running away. What kind of fool would she be if she did that? As she had moved a little closer to him, the more she began to notice his other charming features. His smile was truly adorable; it practically captured the essence of his benevolent personality and she suppressed a vague sigh. Aurora admittedly did unravel a little at the sight of an attractive man but she wasn't used to it being this hasty.
"Thank you, Cornelius--I mean, Mr. Robinson," Aurora replied softly to his compliment, a blush grazing her pale cheeks for a moment. "I do like your name too; it's very noble sounding and handsome as well. Oh and you weren't bothering me at all--you don't have to apologize. Actually, I do enjoy the company." She tried not to sound too flighty before she flashed him another saccharine smile.

A slight humming could be heard, though no source could be seen near the lake. It was certaintly a peacefull day- the sort to make one want to burst into song, but who was singing? The deep voice continued to sing, making "bom" sounds over and over again in place of actual words. The source of the noise was an invisible figure, Elliott the dragon. People usually assumed Elliott to be imaginary or a hallucination. After all, dragons weren't real. Well, this place was certaintly a change for Elliot. It was a place of fantasy and happiness, where he didn't seem to see a single frowning face. A common site here were elated children with souvenirs, toys, or candy. It made the dragon happy.
Elliot became visible, looking at his reflection in the water with a big grin. He touched his pink hair, ruffling it up with a chuckle. However, his cow like ears perked up as he heard a beautifull soprano voice. The dragon looked around, spotting a lovely blonde woman talking to a spiky-haired man with glasses on. He smiled, wagging his tail like an excited dog, though he had a blush on his face from the woman's staggering beauty. Elliot did get nervous around beautful women, like Nora.
A light blue glow emanated from Elliot, bright cyan sparkles surrounding him before he dissapeared from sight completely. Keeping from laughing, he walked over to the pair- hiding right behind the young princess- although no one can see him anyway. Becoming visible for a moment he quietly said "Boo!", attempting to playfully scare the man- though not attempting to make him run away. Though just as swiftly as he had appeared, Elliott once again became invisible- as he was still quite nervous around the woman. He giggled, covering his mouth with a hand.

Aurora had been so transfixed on the amiable inventor when a deep and turbulent sound broke the visionary and comfortable lull of the forest. She had just noticed at the moment how close she was standing near the dreamy Cornelius and her cheeks mantled again while she casually (and reluctantly) took a tiny step away. She wasn't very fond of people getting into her personal space but with the spiky haired individual, she was secretly willing to make an exception. She wasn't quite ready to tell him that, though and decided to maintain a prim comportment.
The low hum knelled again and her large, violet pupils slid to the right briefly. Her brow knit delicately in confusion and she glanced over one of her slender shoulders to see if anybody was approaching. No soul or figure appeared to be in visibility--surely, it was only her and Cornelius (*sigh* <3), right? The maiden frowned thoughtfully and her eyes met his once more.
"Cornelius...I--I could possibly be hearing things but listen..." she addressed him softly before letting jaunty melody sound. "Did you hear that? What do you suppose it is?"
Before the princess could elicit an answer out of the man, a sharp bellow erupted out nowhere and Aurora gave an involuntary gasp, loosing her balance and plummeting into the shallow water in a most ungraceful fashion.

Cornelius forcefully pulled his eyes away from her to clear his mind. He began to fiddle with the collar of his lab coat that hugged around his long neck. He could feel his legs tremble, struggling to keep himself from falling over himself.
She greeted him so kindly, that he was at a loss for words, surprisingly enough. When she offered her tiny hand, he reached for it delicately and held it lovingly, as if he had been with her longer than just a mere few minutes. The flowers that whipped around them were nothing compared to her beauty – she was a rose, really. It seemed all too fitting, and, with just that thought, he could say nothing more to her.
He was smiling warmly, opening his mouth from time to time to say something, when he knew well he couldn’t. The air kept getting caught in his throat. It was horrid enough that he knew not how to speak in front of a princess but to remain silent and motionless was even worse! It seems obviously clear how she thinks you to be, Cornelius, he thought bitterly.
“It’s very nice to mee…” he couldn’t finish his sentence, for her attention had wandered off. At this he felt it right to pry, gently, into this. “Is everything alright?”
He got his answer as he took her in his arms instinctively, having seen the darling creature approach, finding himself falling with her. He quickly held her to his chest so he would break her fall. He shivered as the water engulfed their frames. He sat up with her on his lap and adjusted his glasses, not realizing their closeness.
“A dragon?” he asked inquisitively, looking to Aurora with a curious gaze, “do you know him? He doesn’t seem a threat…by the looks of it.”
Was the creature giggling? He protectively wrapped his arms around her and helped her up.
“We got a little…wet, huh?” he said feebly, chuckling, cheeks flushed with embarrassment. He looked to the dragon, blinking.
"Who are you, sir?"

Elliott's grin dissapeared as the two fell in the water, the dragon gasping with concern. He hadn't meant to startle them that much! He heard the man ask "A dragon?" increduously, making Elliot chuckle again. He sniffed the pair curiously, not finding them to be a threat to him. Even if he had found them to be a threat, he probably would still have been nice to them.
He felt terribly guilty about making them fall in the water and wanted to make it up to them. Elliot's green scaly face turned a light pink, now that he seen the woman's face. He looked to the man as he asked who he was. The dragon smiled again, pointing to himself. "Elliott!" He replied cheerfully. Elliott licked the inventor's face like a happy puppy might do to greet his master.
Realizing that they must have been cold, Elliott wished he could have made a fire to warm them up, though he didn't want to burn them of course. He began to hum again, falling back onto his rear as he sat and looked down at the two, waiting for them to introduce themselves.

The young woman trembled a little, her dress and hair immersed from the crash into the water and she accepted the inventor's aid as he swept her back onto her feet. He was a perfect gentleman; they had barely known each other a few minutes before but the princess felt her throat lock a little, overwhelmed and touched by how gracious he was to her. She was far too delighted to cry, though and managed to keep a jovial disposition in spite of her gown being soaked. His embrace was so pleasant and tepid and she rested her head against his skinny chest for a moment, smiling absentmindedly. After a short, blissful minute, she lifted her head again.
"A little wet?" she repeated with a giggle. She gently brushed a lock of his disheveled hair out of his glasses in amusement. "Well, I must say that's a bit of understatement...you'd think the dragon over there sneezed--"
The princess blinked vaguely and then craned her dove like neck a bit to stare up at the imposing reptile. She seemed rather puzzled and then after few more seconds of studying and debating whether to run away or not, she offered him up a dazzling smile. He was nothing at all like the dragons she had been warned about in the past. He was certainly a vast and lumbering fellow but he also seemed playful and childlike at the same time and she marveled him with fascination, making sure to be wary just in case he was easily provoked.
"Oh, hello Elliott...that's a charming name." Aurora lilted kindly, staying a couple feet back and curtsying to the large creature. "I'm Aurora. Wherever did you come from, dear?"
For a dragon, he was very cute--like a puppy almost and she approached him tentatively and gently tickled his chin, beaming.

(Hope you didn't mind me joining. :3)
Elliot was happy to see that these two weren't afraid of him- as people who usually saw him were quite frightened of him. However, as he had noticed here- most people in this place weren't scared of him, usually not even paying him any mind. Of course, he was also invisible most of the time, too. The dragon briefly wondered if these two were a couple, like Nora and Paul were. If that was the case he was certaintly happy for them! He laughed quietly at the thought, though not in a mean way. The dragon clapped his hands together, making clicking and "vrrt!" noises to show his happiness for the two, unaware that they weren't romantically a couple and had just met.
As the woman introduced herself, Elliott watched as she politely curtsied to him. Clearing his throat, he stood up and bowed formally as a prince might do- not that he had ever seen one of course, but he had heard stories of princes in shining armor rescuing damsels in distress. Aurora looked like a princess, now that Elliott thought of it. Perhaps she was! Wouldn't that be something? To meet a real princess!
The dragon giggled as Aurora tickled his chin, glad that she was as kind and sweet as she looked. He realized he hadn't answered her question yet and attempted to answer her, even though the name of the town he had come from was quite difficult to pronounce. Even Dr. Terminus had trouble saying it! "P-passam-maquaddy!" He answered cheerfully.
Elliot still felt terribly guilty about getting them all wet and lowered his head, looking up at the two with "puppy dog eyes". He hoped they could forgive him, though they didn't seem too mad to begin with. He rolled over, laying on his back and looking up at them, giggling again. He was likely so playfull because he hadn't seen Pete in so long. Oh, how he missed him. Still, he knew Pete wouldn't want him to be sad because he didn't want Pete to be sad, either. And that just shown how close of a bond they shared.

Now, you’ve probably had severe food poisoning, he thought to himself in disbelief of the legendary creature before him. He was still stunned there was a dragon, at a point where he might have felt it necessary to inquire him of his origins. Whether he chose to engage in friendly conversation was another matter entirely, for he was just too impressed for words.
According to the scene before him the dragon was entirely capable of communication, if not, limited. He also seemed capable of emotions, and this really did charm the inventor to no end, which soothed the tension somewhat. Was the dragon truly apologizing?
How kind!
“No harm done,” Cornelius said soothingly, hesitantly patting the creature on the belly, looking awfully inquisitive. “A little play is never without a little mischief, so don’t be too hard on yourself.” He smiled tenderly, then looked to Princess Aurora with a sheepish smile.
“I’m Cornelius – this is Aurora,” he introduced, stuttering a little between words. He was a mess around her that was for certain, nothing could save him from his flawed personality. Cornelius felt like wearing a giant paper bag so the princess would not witness his flushed face.
He blinked as Aurora boldly caressed the creature, unafraid. He looked on stunned – she would never cease to amaze him. He gawked with tilted glasses looking utterly discombobulated. He was impressed at her bravery.
“Seems we’ve made friends, hmm?” he mused to the two, finally relaxing. He had to admit, the dragon was too cute for his own good.

The blonde maiden's crimson lips parted slowly as though she was about to declare something very substantial to the inventor but she felt herself start to hesitate a little as she locked eyes with the studious man for what felt like the fifth time. The way he bonded with the dragon was such an endearing sight to be administered with and although she was a princess, Aurora couldn't care less about what background he came from or what sort of connections he had with the regal citizens like herself. Rich or poor, he was an ideal prince in her opinion and him continuing to linger only made her insides twist and flutter with delight even more.
He needn't have blushed...he was absolutely kind and charismatic in his own wonderful, exceptional way and the princess was certain--more than certain that she was falling in love with Cornelius Robinson. It was undoubtedly evident in her lilac pupils, as they continued to bore into his beryl ones, hers glittering pleasantly and her lids lowering just a tad. Anybody could tell that she was completely smitten.
"Goodness!" Aurora suddenly chirped, smoothing back her drying locks. "How uncivil of me...I nearly forgot to thank you for helping me out of the lake, dear Cornelius. I hope it doesn't offend you that I'm...well, a little late with my acknowledgment. Sometimes I tend to get sidetracked and I deeply apologize. You truly are a lovely and considerate gentleman."
Feeling bolder than she normally did, the princess leaned in and let her soft lips graze the side of the inventor's face for a couple seconds before slowly pulling back and conveying a genuine, affectionate smile to bestow him with.
