Esmeralda watched the sea compass in Nani's hand as it span around. She thought about the sea compass she had seen in the hands of the man that now disappeared from her crystal ball. As she packed away the crystal ball, she could see "The Misty Lady" on her mind, and she smiled.
"Tell me Jim, didn't Captain Teague leave you "The Misty Lady" when he left? How about we take your ship, bring the medal back, go to La Isla Muerta, break the curse, and bring you back to normal again? Everything is possible. The impossible just takes a bit longer to acchieve."

Thoughts tumbled through her mind, each examined and discarded. In the end, as the arrow spun slowly in the compass, her eyes narrowed slightly, Nani had no idea where it would land; the possibilities were simply endless! However anxious, she would cling loyally to the thought of finding Jim’s cure. She closed her eyes momentarily, cleared her throat, and then reopened them again to examine the results.
Breathing was short, for it had been caught in her throat. “North,” she read, and then perked at Esmeralda’s words. “The Flying Misty sounds like a good idea.” She looked slyly to Jim, Panchito, Elisa, and Esmeralda – smirking. She tried not to scowl as she said,
“Ready for another . . .Oooh . . . adventure?” she sounded so feeble in the last part. She was the cowardly one of the bunch.

Esmeralda chuckled with laughter by the new name Nani had given Captain Teague's ship. She wondered what Captain Teague would have thought about that.
"The Flying Misty, Nani? The last time I spoke to Captain Teague, the name of his ship was The Misty Lady. I expect a pirate would be highly suspicious of flying mist. It could bring the ship out of course, if the navigation system didn't work."
She smiled and looked over at her friend, ruffling her hair gently.
"If the compass says North, then we go North. It sounds we are on another expedition. This time to free Jim of the curse. Even if we have to go to La Isla Muertas to do so. That island makes my people shudder. It will be interesting to find out why they are shuddering by that name."
Her eyes were glittering with excitement and lust for adventure.

That stray thought of the compass was all it took to pull her from her trance and into the reality that was her innocent mistake. She blinked when the gypsy mentioned her error and shrugged slightly. “Whatever, I’m not good with names, really.” She said, smiling a little.
Half a second later she was nearing the window, having made the trip to gaze at the full moon as calmly as possible. She was just relieved that Jim’s curse didn’t have any mind-altering effects, just physical.
“The ship could be named after Theodore Roosevelt for all I care,” she said, smoothing back her hair with a free hand, sweeping her bangs to the side to better eye the compass. “Least we have some way to get to, well, wherever we’re going. I couldn’t ever imagine traveling by foot – that’s something Shang would do. Thank goodness for . . . er . . . pirate ships.”
She returned to Esmeralda’s side, and got a welcoming gesture. She smiled sheepishly as she ruffled her hair, rolled her eyes playfully, then eyed Jim and Elisa. “Gah . . . I’m too old for adventures.” She said, likening that of a grumpy old hag stuck in a teenage body. “Call me when Starbucks opens, people. I’m gonna go sit in my rocking chair, chew applesauce by a nice fire, waiting for my stupid frappuccino.” She said flatly, groaning like a whimpering baby.

"You'll actually go with me?" Jim asked, moving away from the window and the depressing moonlight.
"Your funeral I suppose..." he gave a mischevious grin, made even more haunting by his skeletal face.
Jim became serious again. "No, really, that place is a death trap. The whole place is cursed... Gypsies are pretty smart to stay away from it." he nodded to Esme.
"If you land a boat on the island, the place will swallow it up. Not to mention that I almost got barbequed by cannibals last time. We'll need someone to pick us up after we've lifted the curse, assuming we even find the medallion. For all we know, the compass could be pointing to the nearest frappuccino." Jim rolled his eyes at Nani.
"But... if you will go, meet me at the Misty Lady tomorrow. I'll have the ship all ready, and in your hands, the compass'll lead us to the medallion."
Jim rushed to the door with excitement, eager to start preparations. He almost bolted out the door when he caught sight of his hand on the doorknob. Oh yeah... he would start the riot of the living dead if he went outside.
"Um... on second thought, I'll just hang here until the stupid moon goes down."

Esmeralda laughed and huggled Jim lovingly.
"Of course we will go with you cutie. Did you think I would send you to retrieve that thing all by yourself? You have a lot to learn about your sisters, I hear."
She grinned mischieveious back to him.
"Funeral? A cursed place? Oooooh, exciting. You really know how to talk me into things, you little charmer you."
She became serious again.
"This time when we go to the island, I suggest we bring an extra rowing boat with us. An old raggy thing that nobody will miss. That rowing boat will bring us to the Island. Let the ship anchor up just out of reach for the curse, so we won't have far to swim when we leave the Island. If we manage to break the curse of the Island as well, the ship will have no problems picking us up."
She thought for a while.
"The compass may not lead to the nearest frappucino. But it will lead us to the place where the medallion is. I will bring Captain Teague with us, and he will tell us what to do when we're there. I am ready to go when you are."

Elisa smiled as Esmeralda encouraged Jim. She was a great friend to those she cared for.
"Good idea." Elisa said when Esmeralda suggested a second boat. "Something like that shouldn't be too difficult to find.
"I'll wait with Jim until the moonlight's gone." She offered, and then turned to Jim with a smile. "There's no need for you to be alone."
