In the camp, Esmeralda smiled and looked teasingly over at Poca while she waited for the fish to be done.
"Poca, I was thinking of something. What do you think of playing ghosts after nightfall? We could make some scary outfits, and sneak off to frighten the persons in the other camp. We could be lurking around their tents or whatever and make ghostly sounds. Would that be a good prank?"
She sighed.
"I only wish Jane was here. I miss her. Do you think she will find us soon?"

Jim
"Uh, oh yeah... my surfer." Jim said, still a bit bewildered by Jane's sudden entrance.
"No biggie... I fixed it." Jim reassured her. "...Even if it took a while..."
Jim turned to Kovu. "The girls are nearby? I knew I heard someone."
Jim turned back to Jane, laughing at Warren's comment.
"Tch, we'd better take her back to her home base. Girls can't do wilderness..."
Warren
"What, this?" Warren chuckled at Jane's amazement, holding up his fist and igniting it.
"Just something I can do. You believe in superheroes?"
"Aw, shaddup. You're too much of a thug to be a hero." Jim put in, a little too loudly.
The Montressorian rolled out of the way just in time to avoid a rather large fireball aimed at his head.

"Girls can't do wildnerness .... ?"
"Excuse me?" Jane said at the comment. She folded her arms in annoyance. That was so typical, wasn't it? Little did those two boys know, Jane actually LIVED in the wilderness! Time to give them a little lesson in judgement.
"What would make you think that? Oh, we're just not capable is that it? Then what would you suggest we do? Hmm?"
Now, she was no longer interested in how the boy's fist lit up in flame, or concerned about whether the other one had fixed his little flying piece of junk. How was it their place to assume something like that?!

**** Pocahontas ****
Pocahontas smiled at Esmerelda's idea for a prank. "I think that will be fun. But we should wait for Jane to come back. If she is with the boys, I'm sure she is safe. Oh, I think the fish is done," she pointed out, pulling their dinner out of the fire.
**** Kovu ****
Kovu could see in Jane's eyes that the two teens had gone too far. He winced and prepared himself for her rebuttal. He glanced over at Quasi and gave him a "well they deserved it" look.

Esmeralda turned to Pocahontas with a smile.
"I agree we should wait for Jane to return. I hope she will be with us soon. The boys would never let anything happen to her. She is alive and she is safe, that's all we need to know for now."
She smiled when Pocahontas said the fish was ready, and helped her friend moving the fish from the stone and over to the dinner plates. Then she added the herbs that gave the fish a delicate aroma.
"If we had a pot here, we could have made potatoes and a delicious sauce. But I will see what we can do about that later. If we find clay somewhere, I can make pots and burn them, so we have something to cook in."
She remembered the voice she had heard, that sounded like Kovu's, and it made her laugh.
"Poca - I remember Kovu was always so fond of my cooking. Do you think he will smell this fish, and that the smell will lead him to the camp? In that case, I hope he will bring Jane with him."

Kovu was watching the entertaining fight when he smelled a heavenly aroma on the breeze. He licked his lips and breathed in deeply, filling his lungs with the amazing scent. He was starting to drool from the beauty of it.
"Do you all smell that?" he asked the group. "Ah, that has to be Esme. I would know the smell of her cooking anywhere. Anyone want to come with me and visit?"

Jane was about to teach the boys another lesson by giving them a good whack with her parasol, when Kovu got her attention once again with a comment. He was right - Esmeralda had to be nearby! Who else could that be? Unless it was National Camping Day, which Jane highly doubted.
"I'll come!" Jane said, wanting nothing else but to get away from the two teenage boys. "Lets all go, the three of us," she said, hinting that Jim and Warren would have to stay behind.

"Hey!" Jim shouted indignantly, noticing that he had been left out. "No way, Jane-of-the-jungle!" he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"We're coming too! A little lady like yourself's gonna need protection in this wilderness." Jim sneered.
Oh, it was SO on!
"Besides, I'm sick of hot dogs. Hey Warren, let's see if Esme will give us some of that fish... whatever fish is."

While the fish was cooling down, Esmeralda waded in the river, catching two more salmons. She killed the fish, just like she had seen Poca do, and carried them over to the fire, where she started preparing them over the fireplace. She then turned to Poca with a smile.
"I think we will get visitors soon," she said. "I have heard Janes voice on a distance for quite a while now, but now there are more voices, and they are getting closer. I think this fish will be ready when our guests are here. I hope it was Kovu I heard among the male voices. I miss him so much. Do you think Jane will get here anytime soon?"
Just to try out the distance, she called out loud.
"JAAAAAANE!!!! DINNER IS READY!!!"

*Revives*
"Well, fine!" Jane huffed at the little brat. It seemed like he could be spending some time at Finishing School! "If you get chased by babboons, don't come running to me for help. Because I could help you! But, I won't."
In the distance, she could hear a familiar voice. That had to be Esmeralda! They were nearby. Instantly, Jane took off into a frantic run, leaving the others behind. "I'M COMING!" She yelled out.
The boys could get there, eventually.

*YAY!!!! Welcome back Jane!!! Glomps*
Esmeralda turned her head with a smile when she heard Jane call back. She quickly helped Poca place the fish and some greens she had found and grilled on the dinner plates she had made out of wood.
"You see, Poca? I told you Jane would be alive!" She beamed, forgetting how much despair she had felt herself when they noticed Jane was missing.
A moment after, she saw Jane running into the camp, and she stood up and wrapped her arms around Jane, pulling her into a big hug.
"Oh, Jane! I am so glad to see you again! You startled us for a while when we didn't find you! Are you alright? You aren't injured or anything? If you are, I can heal you with herbs and plants. There are lots of them here."
She took Janes hand, leading her over to the camp fire, and offered her a plate with freshly grilled fish.
"I would love to hear what you have been up to, but first you must eat. You must be starving! I know I am hungry."
She offered one plate of grilled fish to Pocahontas as well, and kept the third plate for herself. She smelled the lovely smell of grilled fish, and had a feeling that they soon would have visitors.

***Kovu***
Kovu lead the way towards the girl's camp, listening to Jim continued bickering with Jane. He laughed as Jane bolted forward into the brush after Esmerelda's calls. He wondered what he would find when they reached the camp
***Pocahontas***
Pocahontas took her plate from Esmerelda when Jane burst into camp. She laughed as Esmerelda greeted their friend. Jane seemed to be in fine shape.
"Where did you end up, Jane?" she asked curiously. "We were really worried about you. We heard that the boys were camped nearby. Do you want to visit them later on with us?" she added with a sly grin.

Jane returned Esmeralda's hug with glee. It felt so good to be back with her friends - and away from Jim. Jane couldn't help but squeal and laugh. Maybe this safari wasn't such a bad idea - she did survive for a few minutes alone, anyway.
"No, no I'm absolutely fine!" She said, almost breathless. "I - well I -"
She stopped as Pocahontas metioned that the boys were nearby. She and Esmeralda had no idea that they were headed this way! Jane bit her lip in hesitation. Should she tell them?
She drew in a deep breath, and began to speak again. "Well, you're right," she said. "There's Kovu, Quasimodo ... I think that's his name, and," she sighed with loathing, "two brats named Jim and Warren."
"See, I kind of ended up at their camp. They're headed this way, but I ran ahead. Ladies, I believe we should be on our guards tonight, if you know what I mean."
