Sooo...
Well since my recent obsession has been Howl's Moving Castle, I read the book and did a book report on it. It was a diary from Howl's persepective and Jane suggested I put it up, so here it is.
Note: This is the book, not the movie. Michael is actually Markl, and Lettie is a witch not a baker (that's Martha).
And you ish not allowed to make fun of me for it! I play Sophie, not Howl!

Dear Diary,
Lettie Hatter still will not give in to my charm; every time I talk to her she still refuses to even let me hold her hand. It is that darned dog of hers, she is convinced he is actually under a spell. Which of course he is, but I’m not going to confirm it so that she will never talk to me again! Besides there is nothing I can do. I am truly perplexed, I dote upon her hundreds of trinkets and valuable little gifts that would make any women’s heart soar, and all she can do is discourage me. Really! But I will not give up.
In other news we had the festival in Market Chipping today. It was rather splendid and I enjoyed a great deal of good foods and wine. I met a girl, plain as the earth with the likeness of a mouse. I offered assistance but she seemed like a frightened mouse and quickly hastened away. Have I lost all my charm? I cannot go on if that is so, what will my life become if no one will look at me?!? I will die an unwanted coot with ugly hair and a pot belly!

Dear Diary,
Some strange brutish old lady named Sophie has moved into the castle. She’s a dour old thing and won’t stop cleaning. Poor Michael and Calcifer are having a terrible time stomaching her which is completely understandable. I threatened her this morning not to touch the spiders and so far they are all alive and breathing, despite having to take refuge in all the nooks and crannies they can find. I really pity the poor arachnids.
Lettie still refuses to give in to my charm. Mrs. Fairfax believes that I will be a suitable match for Lettie and she is working hard for me to get her and I believe if I leave her alone for a little while I should be able to woo her. I must relax and prepare myself for another attempt at her love, while of course defending myself from Sophie!

Dear Diary,
What a day today has been. Just so truly terrible, I cannot even begin to say the trials I have been put under. It all started with Sophie, Sophie whom I’m not sure whether I wish to hug with all my might, or beat with a stick. As we all know a little too well she tends to be rather… vivacious when it comes to her cleaning, god knows I had to drag her from my room the other day, but she really has gone too far. She cleaned the bathroom. This little sentence may seem rather plain and polite, but I assure you it brings a fear to my heart like no other. I must admit that getting my bath today was rather relaxing what with all the grime gone and the tiles shining. I never imagined they’d be such a lovely shade of blue! But of course back to my story, she also decided to organize the shelves. I can only begin to imagine the terrors she inflicted upon them, but somehow she tampered with my hair potions and now… my hair is PINK!!! Well actually it is more of streaked pink, but pink all the same!
I may have overreacted a bit… I called up the spirits of darkness and annoyed all of Prothaven with demon screams, but truly anyone would have done the same if presented with this situation. It’s mortifying, but do you want to know the true miracle here? Sophie. It was astounding after my show I was rather silent and morose, and Sophie managed to pick out that it was Lettie whom was bothering me. She could really go far in the therapy business if you ask me, she sat me down and made me talk through my anger, so I have come up with a plan! I will leave Lettie alone for a small amount of time, and then come back to her after she has realized just how much of a mistake she made! It’s an ingenious plan if you ask me!

Dear Diary,
Well the pickles I manage to get myself in are just astounding! I have gotten myself appointed as the head wizard at the castle. The king desperately needs his brother Justin back, and since the Wizard Suliman has been idiotic enough to get himself captured by the Witch of the Waste I am the only one left to do it. But that old nose has proved useful; Sophie has agreed to see him on my behalf as my old mother. I am most certain she can pull off the act of a Mother who doesn’t think her son can cook an egg, let alone save a country. Yet the touchy part is I still need to have him want me for little spells, I need to be incompetent, but capable. Not too much to ask is it, really?
I am more concerned with Michael though. I should be concentrating on him more, and his lessons are sadly lacking. I have placed an advanced spell for him to work on and I hope he will be able to complete it, I truly do believe in him. Oh and I should probably mention that Lettie has fallen for me, she really was such a hard girl to persue but the game was fun!

Dear Diary,
Oh the heartache! I have met the most stunning lady in the world, her name is Mrs. Angorian. Her hair shines like the sea on a sunny day, and words roll off her tongue like a waterfall down a cliff. She is so absolutely amazing, but alas the way I met her is none to brag about. Sophie opened the door to the black side and Michael’s spell escaped and was switched with another. Michael and Sophie of course ran off in a scurry to catch a falling star as this strange poem said, I am mighty glad they didn’t! They can’t even begin to understand the consequences, look at me, I caught one and now Calcifer owns my heart! But of course that would have been just too smart and they went anyway. The real problem of course is when I went to Mrs. Angorian’s to retrieve the actual spell.
The Witch of the Waste has finally caught up with me; the curse should come true before May Day which is arriving awfully quickly. I don’t know what to do, Sophie and Michael both know that something is up, but I can’t tell them, they trust me to keep the Castle safe and that is what I want to do. I have to do! I shall try my hardest, there is no way some of the things asked could actually come true right? For now I will just have to wait and see and hope that these things will all play out in good favour to me…
