Character's Personality: Known far throughout London as the World's Greatest Criminal Mind, Ratigan prides himself on this title. Egotistical and evil to the core, Ratigan enjoys every moment of it, skipping one moment, and giving a sinister grin in the next. Ratigan makes it his goal to top his previous schemes with something even more grim and despicable. Having a bit of an identity crisis, he hates being called a rat. He considers himself a gentleman, nothing at all like the vermin that scurry about the sewers of London.
Character's History: Born to a family of... you know... Ratigan always felt he was destined for greatness. Despising his brothers and sisters from the beginning for their disgusting habits of eating trash and being content to laze about in the filthy and vile sewers, Ratigan left at the first opportune moment.
Attending one of the most prestigious mouse colleges in London, Ratigan impressed all of his professors with his knowledge, passing each and every test with ease, turning in reports which blew their minds away. They all agreed that he was marked for greatness, and the day he graduated, he was immediately offered a job at the very same university. Ratigan accepted.
No one could quite tell when the Professor began to turn to a life of crime. In fact, for the longest time, Ratigan covered his tracks so well that no one even knew these notorious crimes were his doing. Police were baffled at the Big Ben Caper, and hadn't a single clue to bring in any suspects. The Tower Bridge Job was running smoothly, that is until a little arrogant pipsqueak came alone, calling himself Basil of Baker Street. Ratigan had no idea how, but the detective managed to link him to the crime, and proved him guilty.
Ratigan narrowly avoided being arrested by the police. They were led by Basil, and so ended Ratigan's life in the finer homes of London. Furious at being forced back into the very sewers he fought to escape, Ratigan vowed vengance on the Great Mouse Detective.
Characters Likes: Plotting newer, grander schemes, his pet cat, Felicia, his bell which he rings to call Felicia when one of his minions has upset him, and power.
Character's Dislikes: Basil, being called a rat, and losing.
Roleplay
Task: Ratigan sat in a corner of the cafe, smoking a cigarette as he mused to himself. The waitress set down his glass of wine, not having the courage to tell Ratigan that smoking was not allowed in the park. She, like everyone else knew of Ratigan's ruthless nature, and the infamous bell sitting on the table served as a reminder of what happens to those who crossed him.
Ratigan took the glass, sipping on the wine. He reached for a picture on the table.
“'Smile for the camera', I said.” Ratigan all but sneered. “He would pose for the picture.” He looked at the image of Basil grinning widely, his arms around his two comrades. Furious at being mocked, Ratigan tore the picture into tiny shreds of paper, throwing the pieces aside. Taking a deep breath, Ratigan regained control of his temper, running his hand across his head to smooth down his hair and adjust his collar. Taking the glass again, he drank the remainder of the wine, his brain was working on a new plot, one that would send Basil of Baker street to his doom. The detective had interfered for the final time. He would rid himself of that thorn in his side. But how?
His eyes widened as an idea hit him. “Yes. Yes, that will be perfect... Oh ho, yes...”
Ratigan rubbed his hands together in glee, then hurried outside. There was so much to do, and so little time to do it.
Ratigan skipped along the sidewalks of Disneyland. This new scheme was so delightfully wicked, even for his standards. He gave a sinister chuckle.
“Soon I'll have you in my grasp, Basil of Baker Street!” He sneered.
