It was dusk in the Animal Kingdom, and Gadget was reflecting on what a fun time she'd had today.
Besides riding the monorail four times around before even entering the park, she'd been on Countdown to Extinction and Expedition Everest.
And best of all, Primeval Whirl broke down while she was on it, and she'd been able to watch the mechanics fix it.
What a swell place this was, so full of high-tech machinery!

Corkscrew, then pull in, somersault, one, two three, pinwheel, free-fall, skydiving X, then throttle!
Jim ran the actions through his head as he twisted himself and his board through the dusky air, letting the wind blow through his shirt and breeches. His hair whipped past his face, and Jim could only trust his instinct as he flicked the throttle as the ground rushed up to meet him.
Now! Jim hit the engine, and blue jets of flame errupted from the end of his surfer. He stomped on the pedal, and his solar sail rose up, sending a flash of red hexagons through the fading light. Jim gripped the steering bar, throwing his surfer in a wide arc before blasting off over the park. The lights from the rides gleamed like Etherium galaxies below him.
Flying lower, Jim suddenly switched off the engine and jumped out of the foothold, landing on the pavement with a thud.
"Needs a tune-up." Jim said mechanically, tapping the surfer's engine.

The evening stillness was shattered by a familiar-sounding roar.
"Oh, a jet engine. Sounds awfully low." Gadget turned in the direction of the sound and gaped in amazement.
It was something like a windsurf board, but it was flying! "Whoa..." was all she could manage to say.
She followed the path of the strange vehicle with her eyes as it arced overhead. But as the board slowed and dipped lower, Gadget's practiced eye could discern that something wasn't right.
The little mouse ran over to where the board landed and piped up to the young pilot. "Mechanical trouble?" Cool!
