((Continued from the thread CATFIGHT!! in Africa))
Esmeralda chased after Lady Tremaine and Lucifer, who covered in mud ran away from her. The landscape changed around them as they moved from a savannah-like area and into a place where there were a few houses popping up here and there. Not much yet, but it was a start.
Lady Tremaine ran towards the castle ahead of her, and when Esmeralda almost caught up with her, Lady Tremaine stepped quickly aside, pushed the girl in throught the open doors and slammed the door behind her before locking it. The girl was trapped... and there was no way she could escape.
Esmeralda, who had fallen when she was thrown into the house, stood up and brushed off her dress. Where was she? The place seemed strangely familiar....
She wandered through the enourmous rooms, trying to find a way out.
"Hello!" she called out, a bit anxious. "Is anyone here?"

Clayton waited in the dark sitting room, lounging comfortably on the couch. He was wittling idoly on a piece of wood, waiting for Tremaine to follow through on her plan. At least if the plan was a total disaster, it wouldn't be all his fault.
His keen eyes picked up the sounds of running outside the mansion. It was Tremaine, he could tell by the distinctive clacking of heels. Finally! he muttered.
Getting to his feet and straightening his clothes, Clayton moved over to the fireplace. He heard a small scuffle in the enterance way, smiling when he heard Esmerelda's distinct voice.
"Hello!" she called out, a bit anxious. "Is anyone here?"
He saw her pass by the sitting room and lit the fireplace. The room suddenly lit with the orange flames.
"Expecting someone else?" he asked knowingly.

Esmeralda was wandering through the enormous rooms, when she suddenly heard a noise coming from one of them. The room was half dark at first, but then she noticed something... or someone move in the darkness, near the fireplace. She was not alone in here. At the moment she did not know if this was good news or bad news.
Then the room was suddenly bathed in orange light from the fireplace. Esmeralda suddenly had the song Like fire...Hellfire... going on in her mind. She knew why when Clayton suddenly appeared from nowhere, standing in front of her. She narrowed her eyes by the sight of him.
"Clayton," she muttered. "I should have known you were behind all of this. What is it you want this time?"

The hunter chuckled to himself as he approached the gypsy.
"You surprise me, my dear," he said, stroking her cheek with the back of his hand. "Do you really need to ask me that?"
He smiled handsomely before moving back to the couch.
"Please, sit," he suggested. "Would you like something to drink?"

Esmeralda shuddered and took a step back when Clayton approached her. She suddenly found herself trapped in a corner, and couldn't get away when he stroke her cheek with the back of his hand. But she turned her face away in disgust, clearly showing she wanted nothing to do with him.
"You have already played all your tricks on me, Clayton," she frowned. "They didn't work before, and they won't work now."
She shuddered when he smiled to her, he reminded her of a cat who was just about to swallow a fat rat. She was starting to wonder if there were other ways out of the castle so she could escape... Luckily he moved back to the couch.
"I'd rather stand, thank you," she replied shortly. "I'd rather stay as far away from you as I possibly can. And I don't want anything to drink. I like to keep my head straight when I'm trapped in a house with a kidnapper."
She looked in the direction of the windows. She was thinking of her friends and family. Was Poca alright? Had Kovu returned, only to find the meadow empty? Would he find out where she was and try to save her?
There was a faint trace of sadness in her eyes as her thoughts wandered to her beloved children Zephyr and Penny. Would she ever see them again?

Clayton raised up the wine decanter and examined the color of the drink. He had expected the gypsy to act like this, it only made his role all the more exciting.
Turning back to girl, he clucked his tongue in a disapproving way. "Come now, my dear," he said sweetly. "We needn't behave so defensively. Tonight is a mere chat. Please, sit. Upon my word as a British Lord, I will not do anything to cause you discomfort."
With that he tugged at his trouser legs and sat down, crossed his legs and watched the gypsy for her response.

Esmeralda frowned and glared over at him, while he studied the wine encanter. He looked like he had fun. She suddenly felt an urge to pour that wine all over his face. The only thing that stopped her from it, was a creepy feeling that he would have enjoyed it.
When Clayton mentioned his word as a British Lord, Esmeralda thought of Lord Cutler Beckett and her frown deepened. She felt a strong dislike towards British Lords right now... they were nothing but trouble. She placed herself on the couch... as far away from Clayton as she possibly could come. She had already noticed a heavy candlestake on a corner table. She would smash that in his head if he tried anything, she decided.
"What is so important to tell me, that you had to kidnap me to talk to me?" she asked, almost hostile.

[[*pictures Clayton with wine poured on him* ;D]] Clayton was satisfied when Esmerelda took her seat, no matter that it was so far from him. He sent her a charming smile, wanting her to calm down. "My darling, as you seem to have so much admosity towards me, it seems that the only way I can cross two words with you is by force. It grieves me that it must be done that way, but I needed to once again apologize for my foolish male idoiocy. It has been so long since I fancied a woman, I seem to have lost any tact that I once possessed. If not thing else, I wish only for your acceptance of my humble regret." Thinking he had to get the conversation away from him, which always seemed to signal trouble on the horizon, Clayton rubbed his chin. "So how is young Zephyr?" he asked. "I'm sure the young scamp is causing you all sorts of mischief. I heard that you are in the process of gathering another child. How is that going?"

((Just say the word (in a PM) and it will happen ;D ;D ;D ))
Esmeralda noticed the smile Clayton sent her as she sat down. Perhaps he meant for it to be charming, but it made her shudder and pulling her shawl tighter around her body. She sent him a death glare, as if to admonish him from trying anything.
A devilish glimpse of humor appeared in her eyes as he complained about her admosity, and she turned to answer him, seemingly surprised. Her voice was sweet, yet every word was dripping with sarcasm.
"You can only cross two words with me by force? Geez, I wonder why! After all, you would NEVER shoot a girl, or kidnap her pet goat or force her to kiss you, would you? A British Lord like you...."
Her hot Gypsy temper flared when he started speaking of her children. Esmeralda loved her children with a strength and a passion that only a mother could feel.
Clayton's words hadn't even left his lips before Esmeralda's black scarf was tied hard around his neck in a manner that might strangle him if he moved uncareful. Esmeralda's burning gaze met his, as she hissed towards him.
"If you even THINK of harming my children... I swear by the Tomb of Bastet that it will be the last thing you do...."

[[*Shakes fist at Clopin* I knew you had something to do with it!!!]]
Clayton shook his head at the gypsy's words. "I know I have sinned in my past and I cannot change the past. Will you hold my errors against me for the rest of my life? I know no other way to gain your trust."
While Clayton's inquiry about her children had been an innocent way to break the tension, Esmerelda had clearly not seen it that way. She launched herself at him and wrapped her scarf around his throat as if to strangle him. The hunter blessed his quick reflexes that he squeeze his hand between his skin and the fabric. An angry rage lit his eyes but he quickly masked it.
"Goodness child," he said in surprise. "You are a fire brand, aren't you? Calm yourself, Esmerelda. I would never see to harm innocent children. You have no need to fear for them."
Clayton could feel his fingers becoming numb under the pressure of the gypsy's attack and he wiggled them to get back some circulation.
"Now," he continued, more forcefully. "If it would please you, I would like to resume breathing. Would you mind . . . ?"

((*Gives her Papa a kiss on the cheek*: Awwww, Papa! You are so cute and protective! I'll scream if I need you, okay? I love you! <333 )) "But you continue sinning, My Lord! I am old enough to be your grand daughter! What do you want me for? You know I belong to Kovu! Can't you find a nice lady your own age?" She was so upset, she didn't notice her own words until they were spoken. Belong to Kovu? He had left her to be with Kiara. But Esmeralda knew that deep in her heart, she loved him still. And she always would. Only now she could never tell him anymore. She had to keep her love for him a secret. She couldn't give him more trouble than she already had. Her eyes saddened and it felt like an ice cold gush of wind blew right through her lonely soul. She woke up from her saddening thoughts when she noticed Clayton wiggling his fingers. She looked surprised over at the scarf around his neck, quickly realizing what she was doing. "Oh! Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean too...." She released him, and sat down on the coach again, looking more sad and lonely than she ever had done. Was Kovu even looking for her? Had she any right to hope for him to come to her rescue? It seemed like any sign of her earlier confidence had gone down the drain.

Clayton took a large gulp of air as Esmerelda released the scarf from his neck and move back to the couch. There was a clear line in his neck from where the scarf had dug in, which the hunter rubbed tenderly as he straightened up.
"Although I do not approve of the technique," he laughed to himself, "I must say I am impressed. May I ask why you attacked me? I would never lay a hand against an innocent child. With knowledge of my past, how could you assume that?"

Esmeralda felt a cold breeze in the room. Someone had quietly entered the mansion while she was attacking Clayton. She heard the door being locked, then quiet footsteps in the hall. Light footsteps, they couldn't belong to a man. She heard someone purring.... a cat? The only cat she had seen lately was.... she sighed and lowered her shoulders. Lucifer. Lady Tremaine and her demonic cat was here somewhere. But for now, they were hidden in the background, leaving her to Clayton.
She looked over at Clayton, remembering the time he had shot her. A shade of doubt were in her eyes. She still felt the aching of the stab wounds in her ribs. Shyly she lifted her blouse, only as much as necessary to show him the still bleeding stab wounds in her rib. They were still bleeding and ached, and needed to be taken care of soon, before she lost too much blood.
"I thought you were behind the kidnapping," she said quietly. "You say you did not order for Lady Tremaine to stab me with her dagger, causing these wounds?"
Even when she pretended to be brave, there was something vulnerable in her eyes.

At the sound of the door closing, Clayton's eyes flicked to the doorway. He knew well that it was Tremaine and he smiled inwardly. He turned back to the gypsy as Esmerelda showed him the dagger wounds. The hunter's eyes went wide and he jumped to his feet.
"Esmerelda, I swear to you by all I hold dear, that I had no part in your injuries. Yes, I will admit that I had Tremaine bring you here, but I never intended for you to get hurt."
He paused, noticing that the wounds were still bleeding. This was not what he wanted at all! Snatching his red bandana from his throat, he used it as a makeshift turnikit around the gypsy's waist. He felt his fingers trembling, both in fear and at being so close to Esmerelda.
Once he had secured the bandage, Clayton got to his feet and marched into the foryay. He brushed Lucifer out of his way with his foot and grabbed Tremaine by the arm.
"What do you think you are doing?" he hissed, his face inches from hers. "I did not give you orders to attack her. The lion was the only one you were suppose to harm. One more slip up and you will pay dearly!"
