Down the path round the echo lake without echo, ;D wandered skinny old man in blue robes and a pointy hat. Those who happened to look up to the sky, could also spot a large brown owl with lacking tail feathers, flying in lazy circles, watching what went on down on the ground.
Merlin paused a moment, looking out over the huge lake, well aware that his destination were on the other side. The path around the lake were a long detour, as it went in twists an turns, some leading the complete other way.
The old wizard stood for a moment scratching his head with his wand. The only thing blocking the shortest way to his destination were the water. Actually water weren`t really an obstacle to speak of, not for him anyway.
He spread his arms as he pointed his wand at the sea, looking much like a witch doctor or any kind of a miracle man.
Aqueetus figgitus seerinity shoo. Querinitus vegitus ala ka zam.
His word made the lake boil and boulder in "anger." The waves arose high up in the air as a leaving a black hole where the water had previously been. The dark pit slowly grew, forming a path right through the lake, with the water as high walls on both sides, allowing Merlin go walk over without having to get wet.
A quite handy trick he`d learned of an acquaintance from one of his many time travels.

And all of a sudden Crushes head popped up from out of the water. He looked upon the Wizard with a smile.
"Love the beard man!.....Are you the one who made the waves go wild?....Duuuude, we might need you here more often! I love to ride the waves man, seriously! Seeing you make those waves do what they did,.....YOU TOTALLY ROCK DUDE!!!!....When I first seen you I was all like...dude, that's just a normal guy going to relax at the lake. Then I seen what you did and I was all like Dude, what is that guy doing, you know!.....Then I seen the waves go wild and I was all like...WHOA...and then I seen the waves were all like WOOOSH!!!....Then I was like WHOOOA!!!...Then the waves went WOOOOSH!!!...and I was like....This is awesome!....Nice to meet you my like totally magical bearded man friend, the names Crush!"
Crush waited for Merlin to say something back to him. He was really totally amazed at what Merlin had just done. Not most people could do such things that Merlin had just done. In Crush's book, Merlin was cool.

Arthur was walking down the path beside Echo Lake, a glum look on his face. He was quite bored and lonely. He hadn't seen his father around, nor his tutor and owl. How he missed them! Arthur knew he couldn't go out looking for them; his father had told him not to. Even so, the boy couldn't help but want to be reunited with them again.
He went slowly along, kicking at the occasional rock that lay in his way. Arthur didn't know where the path he was walking on led, but surely it must have been something better than this place. Then, Arthur heard the sound of churning water. He turned his gaze to the lake. His blue eyes went wide as the water quickly rose into the sky. The lake divided, much like when Moses parted the Red Sea in the Bible. Arthur began to run alongside the lake, trying to find where the lake divided. He rounded a corner and saw two familiar figures in the distance.
"Merlin!" "Archimedes!" The boy ran down the newly created path and up to his two friends. "I'm so glad to see you again!" he exclaimed, a smile on his face. A strange voice caused him to divert his attention away to a large turtle that was poking his head out from the wall of water. The creature spoke with a strange accent, saying a strange word Arthur had never heard before - dude. What was a dude?
Arthur turned his head back to Merlin. "Merlin, who's this?" he asked, having not caught the turtle speak its name in time.

Merlin raised an eyebrow slightly, as a large turtle stuck his head out of the water to talk to hm, non stop. It were pretty impresive how someone could talk that much without having to breathe. What Merlin could get out of it`s heavy 21`st century slang he`d obviously got a new fan here..
Nice to meet you as well, Merlin smiled as soon as he could get in a word. I`m merlin and this is my owl Archimedes, he said, nodding towards his loyal companion who`d just dived down to take a closer look at the strange turtle.
Both man and owl turned in usison as they heard a familiar, long missed voice. Arthur! merlin exclaimed, grinning. Good to see you`re still in one pice, he teased. So how`re things with you at the time?
Even Archimedes hooted happily, before he composed himself again.
Now keep running away don`t you boy? he greeted in his usual way. After all Archimedes was Archimedes.. Though he didn`t quite suuceed hiding his relief and happiness over the reunion.
Now come on Archimedes give him some peace now. Surely he can`t keep running in the heels of featherballs and old men playing with woden sticks, now that he`s got a family of his own, Merlin corrected him playfully. Archimedes said nothing in reply, just snorted over being called a featherball.
Merlin smiled with humor, as he noticed the strange look his young student sent the sea creature, reminded that he hadn`t got used to modern slang yet. Oh the inhabitant of the lake i suppose, he replied to his question. I believe his name were Crush, if i got it right, he scratched his head.
