As Riley walked around Liberty Square he tried but failed to keep a grin of his face. He couldn't help it, he had always wanted to go to Disney World since he was a little kid. He had just finished riding some rides at Fantasy land and decided he would stroll down Liberty Square, and maybe check out the Haunted Mansion. At the moment he was eating a Micky Mouse ice cream bar, while looking around at the sites. 'Man, I wish Ben and Abi could be here too' Riley thought missing his friend. Ever since Riley had been hired to help find the Temperlar Treasure he had spent a lot of time with Ben and found himself missing his friend. Not that that kept Riley in a bad mood for long, as he was still excited about being in Disney World.

Gadget stood on a bench unfolding a, to her, huge map of the park. She laid out the whole thing, then walked on it, turning this way and that to get her bearings.
The little mouse couldn't decide what to do next. "Hmmm...should I go to the Hall of Presidents? Or the Haunted Mansion?" she said aloud to herself.
They both sounded pretty cool.

While Riley was finishing his ice cream he walked past a empty bench, or at least what he thought was an empty bench. That is, until he heard a voice coming from it.
Riley decided to investigate the noise, only to find a mouse standing on a map. "Uh, not to sound rude or anything but did you just talk?" Riley asked feeling silly for even asking the question. Mice can't speak, it was probably some kid sitting behind the bench playing a prank. Then again Riley never heard of a mouse wearing clothes and this one was wearing a purple jumpsuit.

Gadget looked up to see a human eating an ice cream.
"Did I? Sorry, just thinking out loud."
He seemed to be looking at her in a strange kind of way. "I don't always talk to myself." He probably thinks I'm weird, she thought silently.
"My name's Gadget," she added, sticking out her hand for a friendly shake. "What's yours?"

"Oh it's not, I just never thought a mouse could...ah never mind. My name is Riley Poole" Riley stammered a bit, trying to explain to the mouse that he was more startled by the fact that she could talk, than the fact she talked to herself. Seeing the tiny hand Riley decided to hold out his finger for a handshake.
"Oh, and don't worry I have a friend who always talks to himself so it's not a big deal" Riley added noticing Gadget looked a little self conscious about the whole talking to your self thing.

He seemed nice, although a little nervous. Maybe he was shy.
"So, which would you go on first? The Hall of Presidents? Or the Haunted Mansion?"
Gadget traced the two attractions on the map with her foot, trying to decide.

"Definitely the Haunted mansion, seeing as everything taught at the Hall of Presidents has probably been drilled in my head enough already by Ben, my friend" Riley said wanting to keep his vacation as far away from history as he can. He didn't really mind it, but after hanging out with Ben allot he got tired of it.

"Oh, yeah? He's a history buff, huh?" History wasn't Gadget's favorite subject, but she'd heard there were good audio-animatronics in the Hall of Presidents.
"Well, then, the Haunted Mansion it is. I hope it has good effects." For her, that would be the coolest part.
"Have you been to the Haunted Mansion yet?"

“I haven’t been to the Haunted Mansion yet, but I bet has better effects than It’s a Small World” Riley said mentally cringing as he mentioned that ride. He couldn’t imagine how anyone would like that ride, with its repetitive song and the puppets so badly made. He was sure someone could use it as a torture chamber.

"Oh, golly." Her smile faded fast. "I liked It's a Small World. I thought it was cute..."
True, it was simply made, but Gadget found the happy song and colorful dolls very cheerful. She even went on it twice.

“Well I guess it’s not all that bad, it was kinda cute” Riley said after Gadget commented on how she liked “It’s a Small World After All”. He was extremely relieved he didn’t mention how he thought it could be used for torture, now that would have lead to an uncomfortable situation.
“So, want to go to the Haunted Mansion," Riley said wanting to end the awkward conversation.

"Sure!" she answered cheerfully, instantly forgetting her temporarily hurt feelings. "Let's go!"
Gadget led the way to the haunted house. It would be nice to have someone to ride with.

Riley followed behind Gadget, making sure to walk slow enough so he and Gadget walked at the same speed. Fortunately they soon got to the Haunted Mansion. There wasn’t a big line so they got to the front of the Mansion pretty fast.

Passing from the sunny Florida sky to the gloomy mansion interior, Gadget stared up at the cobwebs and Gothic decor.
"Nice atmosphere," she commented to Riley. "Really spooky, huh?"
"Check out those portraits. They almost look like they're moving."

“Yeah it is kind of spooky” Riley said looking around at the old building. At Gadgets comment about the paintings Riley started to pay more attention to them. As they stretched upward the seemingly innocent paintings started to show creepy scenes.
