Elisa walked through the busy port. She was leaving Disneyland, ready to head back to New York on a cruise liner. She had enjoyed her time here, but was feeling very homesick. She also missed the gargoyles, Goliath especially.
Walking up the plank that lead to the ship, Elisa reached into her pocket to pull out her ticket. Frowning when she didn't feel it, she searched deeper, checking her other pockets. Her ticket was gone! And so was her wallet!
“Oh no, someone stole my things!” Elisa moaned.
“Tough luck, lady.” The Captain said. “Looks like you're stranded.”
“Oh come on, you've gotta help me out.” Elisa said. “I need to get home.”
“No ticket, no boat ride.” he said.
“But-”
“Look lady, this ain't no charity boat.” He snapped. “Now get off the plank, before I push you off.”
“And I thought cab drivers were rude.” Elisa snapped back as she stomped away.
“How embarrassing.” Elisa muttered as she slumped down on a bench. “I'm a cop, and someone picked my pocket. I'm stuck here, no ticket, no money, not even an id. What am I gonna do?”

Captain Teague Sparrow anchored up his ship The Misty Lady in the harbour. He had been out at the sea for 7 weeks. Now he was in the Worlds of Disney for a short while to tend to his business and see that nobody were troubling his friends.
He walked down the plank leading to his ship, enjoying the sunlight, and the fresh smell of seawater, when he heard angry voices nearby. It seemed a beautiful young lady had problems with the Captain of the ship next to The Misty Lady. He lit his pipe and patted calmly on it, while he watched the scene and listened to the conversation.
It seemed to him the young lady had an unfortunate meeting with pickpockets and that her values were gone, and the Captain on the other ship refused her a ride. The lady stomped away and slumped down on a bench. looking rather unhappy.
Captain Teague Sparrow had seen enough. He approched the young lady gently, not sure of how she would react to a pirate dressed in a Captain's uniform. He tipped his hat politely, kissed her hand, and spoke to her in his deep voice.
"Forgive me intrusion o' yer privacy, fair Mademoiselle. I couldna help but notice ye seem t' be in trouble. Me name be Captain Teague Sparrow. Former Admiral o' th' Royal Navy, Lord Pirate o' Madagascar, an' Th' Keeper o' th' Code. At yer service."

Elisa was rather surprised as this stranger walked up to her, tipping his hat and kissing her hand. He was dressed in a Captain's uniform, but the man was undoubtedly a pirate.
She listened to his introduction. He mentioned being an Admiral, and the Keeper of the Code. Elisa wasn't sure what he meant by that, but he seemed friendly enough, and genuinely concerned.
"It's nice to meet you, Captain." Elisa said.
"I guess you caught a little of that, huh?" she said, gesturing to the ship and it's captain. "I would have been willing to work for it, but the guy wouldn't even hear me out.
"Forgive me, Captain Sparrow, but what exactly is 'The Code'?"

Captain Teague Sparrow smiled and looked over to the girl. She hadn't yet told him her name, but he noticed she was upset, so he didn't blame her. He looked down at the head hanging by his side, the head that looked like Yzma's. He hoped Mrs. Sparrow would keep her mouth shut so she didn't frighten the young woman with her unusually shrill voice.
"Well, I couldna help but noticin'," he replied calmly. "Th' Captain weren`t exactly quiet."
He smiled by her question, and after a look at her honest face, he found that it couldn't harm to tell her.
"Sweet trade comes from extreme poverty, from rich men exploitin' th' poor t' th' point 'ere th' poor be havin' t' turn into crime t' survive. In spite o' this poverty, or maybe on accoun' o' o' 't, thar be a strong bond between gentleman o' fortunes all o'er th' world. We stick together an' help each other. Since th' law has turned its aft t' us, we made our own laws. These laws be Th' Code. An' I be th' Keeper, th' one who makes certain these laws be obeyed t' th' letter."

Elisa nodded in understanding. Normally she didn't have any tolerance for criminals, but when one wasn't given a choice, what could they do? Even back in New York there were a handful of people who stole for the sake of feeding their families. Elisa never found it in her heart to arrest people like that, and she would simply turn a blind eye. And here, if there was still honor among thieves...
Elisa considered the situation for a bit when she realized she had yet to give her own name.
"Oh I'm sorry." Elisa said. "I haven't even introduced myself. My name is Elisa Maza."

Captain Teague Sparrow smiled. He had to respect a woman that didn't judge the pirates for their actions alone, but was wise enough to see the reason why the piracy had started. Teague had never allowed his men to steal, rob or kill anyone unless there were very good reasons to do so. This was why he, among all the pirates were chosen to be the Keeper of the Code. He was feared among the other pirates, who knew they would be shot if they critisized The Code. But at the same time he was also respected for his wisdom and his sense of justice. He turned to the young lady when she introduced herself. There was a darkness in her hair, that reminded him a bit of Pocahontas. He missed the young indian Princess and hoped she would bless him with her company soon. ((Hint-hint, Poca )) "Elisa Maza. A beautiful name. Ye remind me o' an indian matey o' mine, more like a daughter t' me. Th' lass' name be Pocahontas. Be havin' ye met her?"

"You know Pocahontas?" Elisa said excitedly. "I met her before, in the Haunted Mansion. My father was part of a Hopi tribe that had had dealings with her people. I only wish I had gotten to know her better."
Elisa smiled, her respect for the Captain growing. If he could be a father figure to a person like Pocahontas, then she knew that he was a good man.
"Have you talked to her lately? I'd love to see her again."

Pocahontas explored the port area with childlike interest. She had never been here before and was eager to learn how these future people took care of the sea. Their fishing techniques were so different to her own people and it reminded her how far she really was from home.
Feeling homesick, Pocahontas decided to return to her suite. Perhaps visiting the Tree of Life would help her loneliness. She turned back to the enterance when she heard a familiar voice. Looking around she spotted Captian Teague and another girl that she had met in the Haunted Mansion. She was from that strange tribe in New York.
"Wingapo Kowse," she called to the pirate, hugging him tightly. "Oh, I have missed you. How have you been? Hello Elisa," she added to the woman, smiling at her. "How are you?"

"Pocahontas, hello." Elisa greeted happily. "We were just talking about you.
"Well, I wish I could say I was doing well." Elisa said when Pocahontas asked how she was. "I was supposed to be on a ship heading back to New York, but someone stole my ticket and wallet, and so I have no money.
"I would have worked for the passage home, but the Captain of the ship wouldn't listen to me. Captain Sparrow has been keeping me company since then." She finished, smiling at the friendly pirate. "At least there's a few friendly people here."
"Now if only I had a way back to New York, I'd be set." She said, allowing a small laugh.

((Awwww, Poca. I love your new avvie! She is so cute when she's trying on that hat! *melts*)) Captain Teague Sparrow smiled and hugged Pocahontas tightly, a bit touched she called him "father " in her own language. He ruffled her long, silky hair in a fatherly manner. "Wingapo, Poca. I be havin' missed ye too. How be havin' ye been since th' last time we met? I trust yer husband be treatin' ye well?" Captain Teague looked at Pocahontas. Even if she hadn't mentioned her homesickness, he could see she was not as happy as she should have been. He listened to Elisa too, as she spoke of her problems. If this girl was going to New York, she had to be homesick too. He pondered for a moment, then he placed his arms around the shoulders of both girls. "'t seems t' me ye two be in need o' adventure. I be havin' two solutions fer ye. First solution: I give ye a free ride t' 'ere ye want t' go, an' ye two work yourselved from town t' town, earnin' th' treasure t' move on. Second solution: Ye two come wi' me an' try t' life th' life as a pirate. What would ye choose?"

Pocahontas hugged Teague tightly, smiling as he greated her in her people's tongue. She blushed when he mentioned Kenai and nodded.
"He is very well," she told the captain. "I miss him terribly when he is gone."
"Oh, I am sorry about your bad fortune, Elisa," she said to the woman. "I wish I could help. I would take you home in my canoe but it was destroyed when I went camping with Esme and Jane. I need to make myself a new one."
When Teague talked about an adventure on his ship, Pocahontas brightened. "Oh that would be wonderful. I've always wanted to see what you do. I don't know if I can be a good pirate, but I'm willing to try. What about you Elisa?"

"I appreciate the offer, Pocahontas, but New York is a very long journey any way." Elisa said.
Elisa listened to Teague's proposition. She could either sail to anywhere from here to New York, and find a way to make enough money to get back on her own, or she could sail under his command as a pirate. She quickly considered her options. If she tried to get home by herself, who knows how long it would take, and for that matter, who knows what kind of people she'd end up with? Not all men were as honorable as he was. If she sailed with him, she'd probably end up home much sooner, and she'd be among friends.
She looked up at Teague and Pocahontas with a smile.
"A pirate's life is the life for me." She said, then added with another grin. "At least until we reach New York."

Captain Teague Sparrow chuckled with laughter and turned to "The Misty Lady". The ship was already ready to sail, and Captain Teague had seen his crew return to the ship, after running his errands, and checking that his friends and families were safe. None of the men had approached him, and thus Teague knew the ones he protected were all safe and sound.
He turned to the ladies and gestured towards his ship with an arm, as to welcome them to come with him.
"This be me ship, "Th' Misty Lady". She be ready t' sail in an hour. If ye ladies like, ye be havin' one hour t' get what ye need from th' shops around here. Miss Elisa, I will help ye wi' th' treasure ye need t' be havin' a comfortable journey. So if ye ladies need anythin', ye be havin' time t' do some shoppin' before we leave. Report t' me fer duty when ye be aft."
Teague brought out two purses with gold coin, offering one for each of the girls, so they could buy the things they needed for the trip, and maybe some things for their comfort .
"Be havin' fun shoppin', me ladies. We be gone fer three moons, so ye might jus' as well prepare yourselves. I will wait fer ye aboard "Th' Misty Lady." We will set sails as soon as ye be aft from yer shoppin'."

Esmeralda was walking on the peers. It was a thick fog welling up from everywhere, and she knew that soon the peer would be covered in fog, and nobody would be capable of seeing anything. A man came towards her, and she recognized him as Captain Teague Sparrow. He seemed more tired than usual, and she was concerned, thinking about how old age had gotten to him at last. As soon as she saw him, she knew that it would not take long before he would leave this world. It was written in his eyes. He gave her a last smile and disappeared into the fog, and Esmeralda continued on her way, hoping to meet someone she knew. ((Esmeralda is taking Captain Teague Sparrow's part in the rest of the plot ))

[[*cries over Teague's death* Must be strong for Poca!]]
Pocahontas took the coin purse from Teague reluctantly. As much as she loved the old pirate, it didn't seem right to take the money from him. But she didn't want to hurt his feelings, taking the purse and resolving to get the captain some nice rum as a present.
Aware of the hour of free time, Pocahontas decided to return to her suite and gather what she needed. The rest she could purchase on the way back to the pier.
"Would you like to go shoping with me Elisa?" she asked the woman.
She had very few close female friends, except Esme and Jane, and was eager to learn more about the woman. Although not of the same tribe, the two shared indian blood, making a clear bond.
Looking back at the mainland, Pocahontas spotted a familiar figure in the fog and raced forward. "Esme!" she cried, launching her arms around the gypsy's neck and hugging her tight. "Oh it is great to see you. You'll never believe what happened. I'm going to be a pirate. Captain Teague said that I could work on his ship for a while. Isn't that wonderful?!"
